Plastic and cosmetic surgery abroad
i think most korean surgeons would be quite busy so you would need to inform them that you are visiting them at least via email. it's just a consultation. so you can say youre interested in going to nose on the email and when you actually go there, you can go listen to what they say. see if you like it then decide if you're really going to do it.
anyone going to korea this nov/dec?

yo thks ocean11.. how is ur nose healing.. any pics to share
i'm a slow healer actually cuz u can see frm my eyes haha.. might be the sineech though rachel says smokers still have slower healing rate
U r abt 1wk ahead of me rite so ur healing shd be better n tip sharper than mine? Be patient i'm sure we'll get our "song hye gyo" nose soon! hehe.. U mean ur bridge height is 5mm? hmm cuz I forgot to ask abt mine.. I tot iz onli 3mm or less cuz it seems quite low to me..
Haha i'm juz asking abt the nostrils lah.. Dr C says it will slowly reduce to same size but I'm fine cuz yeah like u say, noone will look at our nostrils anyway except ourselves lah
Ohh... mine is silicone implant not sure is I or L shaped.. but it still looks thick now.. n veri shiny lor... I think urs used to be silicone n u changed it to goretex this time rite? Is the silicone used to be obvious to ppl? As in ppl can tell u got a nose job?

ya lor. same as me.. now the tip still bulbous.. hope it be get sharper as days goes..
i think my bridge height is about the same as urs, or slightly taller.. cos i heard from Ah Jung, he used about 5mm or slightly more den 5mm for me. but aiya, 1mm diff.. not much diff la..
my nostrils sometime look balance, sometime not! hehehe.. i oso don know why.. but yeah, not obvious.. aiya, it ok la.. don think ppls will look at ur nostrils when talk to u rite?
one thing about goretex, the bridge really looks thicker den the silicone.. but den again is more natural, cos i see most of my frens that nvr do nose job before, the bridge are thicker den those using L shape or I
shape implant.. so when we fully heal, nobody will guess u had a nose job b4.. i meant those new friends.. hehehe..

My nose now still healing lay.. cos of my age la, healing takes slightly longer.. my tip still very bulbous but the side profile really good, but when i turn to my front.. everybody flip! hahahaha..
no lay. ur height looks like mine lay.. don think is only 3mm la, should be more.. mabe is becos of diff material? cos silicone is higher then goretex.
btw, how u take the pic? u using phone or camera? no matter how i take, cannot lay.. is either too big or ugly! hehehe..
u also smoker huh?! me too, but i nvr smoke this time.. hehe.. cos it will really slow down the healing process.. so u beta don think about it!!!
but i drink.. cannot tahan liao!! so i sip abit of wine everynite.. hahaha..
i would say silicone is nicer in shape, esp the bridge slimmer.. hmm.. if the job is done well, not many peoples can tell u done nose job, but when u take pic, u can see this straight line and sometime the nose will change colors, red, purple, greylish.. but doesnt apply to all ofcos, mabe to some of them. so depend whether u can take the silicone well or not.. for silicone it true that having lotsa side effect, but i also see some of them after 30 yrs also no problem!! so see u lucky or not lor.. anyway goretex also not as safe.. basically as long there's foreign material in ur body is a time bomb!
aiya, i am not thinking liao la.. only live once.. ofcos want to be pretty and make myself happy.. so heck it!! enjoy life 1st!

Dr Chuang's work
Hi guys,
So much said about Dr Chuang, does anyone have any photos of his work (before & after) like those of Dr Jung's rhinoplasty cases? I still believe photos paint the most effective result.
Cheers

I think this is a different Dr. Hsu from Jovin's doc. This one is based in GaoXiong - the South of Taiwan, not Taipei.foubelle wrote: uyp. that's almost everyone's main concern i think/ after that should be safety and price.
dr hsu sounds capable enough! but all his articles are in chinese so i have no idea how to read them. is it the same dr hsu that did jovin's nose(or is it eyes? sorry. too many pages in front) the first time?
about the pic that you show us, is it me or does the girl's right nostril looks different from her left nostril? side profile results are good! but the front leaves a little more to be desired.
eh. actually hor, doesnt it depends on the size of your ears also mah. my ears so small. can only cut a bit. someone might have a bigger ear. so maybe autologus materials for some pple really not enough lorhs.
wahs. dr toriumi charges SO MUCH. 25000. USD somemore. i think dr jungis the next best choice. btw, is his chinese surname zheng?(as in tay for singapore)
good luck for your operation. will be praying for you here in singapore(:
I think the girl in question - this is the best considering that only ear and inner nose cartilages are used - limited materials. She kept raving in FG (fashion guide) forum tt she healed well and her nose feels much more natural than goretex or silicon.
the question is how perfect u want yr nose to be. i m opting for all natural so tt even if the risk of revision for autologous is 10%, at most i only need to deal with a natural material one more time as oppose to uncertainty some years down the road, which no doc can guarantee. i hope i get what i want with Dr. Jung.....cos thinks he prefers goretex in our correspondence so far.....
think dr. turiumi is not usd25k but usd15k.
yes, dr. Jung is Zhen Xiao Dong is chinese character. he has many published thesis on rhinoplasty.
cheers,
good! you wanted a high bridge while i am happy with low bridge.ocean11 wrote:DMN,
my nose huh? hmm.. beta.. the bridge very obvious now, hope it wouldnt go down anymore.. as for the tip, hope it can be more sharper.. now still look abit bulbous.. overall not that bad.. but only barely 3 weeks, so still long way to go.. now wat i am concern is the scar!!i guess cos my age, the scar heal quite slow, and i am worried it wouldnt heal.. *finger crossed* althou not obvious, but i want it flawless!!
u brave gal.. autologous not an easy op.. which part are u going to harvest from, if it not from ur rib?
jia you!!
rib wld be LAST option for me cos i dun want lingering pain. oso, rib is supposed very hard looking to. scar is ok, i can live with it cos can go for laser to remove the scar later.
both inner nose and ear cartilage shld be enuf for me but we need to review when i see dr Jung.
cheers,
hi,
i m by no means an authority but juz some issues i learnt from forum and thru correspondence with 3 docs.
not referring to any doc in particular....PLEASE people be careful of incomplete advertisements by some ps docs.
e.g. some docs may just join a short half-day seminar with renowned docs like Dr. Jung or Dr. Toriumi and go home to claim tt they r students of these famous docs. as consumer we need to ask the doc if they took the lessons as understudy or juz short seminars. the serious one will repeat their understudy as often as they need to master the skills. while, those who wanna make quick bucks juz attend a half day or full day seminar and claim to be these docs' students. their patients become their guinea pigs.
it makes A LOT of difference if u wld research thru various sites of docs in Taiwan and China, esp. look at the before n after photos.
for e.g. the good docs would do what they call 7-knots stitch for ea stitch. those who r lazy or cld not care less or hv simply no idea - wld juz do one to three knots stitch. therefore, for one stitch, a good doc can spend 20-30 mins while another can spend only less than 5mins. that's why, some docs can say they finish the op (for artificial implants) in 30-40 mins top and others will take 1.5-2hrs for same procedures.
it makes a lot of difference to patient's healing, nose tip's stability and final look. there is really no short-cuts. that's why, the good docs may cost more but if u look at the value of time spent...you can do yr own sums lah...
therefore, ask as much technical questions as you can. read more research papers and go to diff websites which r readily available on net. then, as consumers, we can upped our chance to find good quality docs and reduce risk for ourselves.
good luck to everyone!
cheers,
dmn

DMN i think that's very valuable information indeed. last time i thought maybe just paying for the skill(and a peace of mind) but nv know that there are such differences. when are you going?(sorry if you have to repeat this again) consult dr jung and let us know yeah?
ocean11, i think small amount of red wine should be ok. in fact i think i read somewhere that small amounts of red wine is actually beneficial for our bod\ies(cos of antioxidants) but of course too much then the negative effects of alcohol will take over.
angelluv: i think now still quite early to say. technically, it takes about 3 months before you can more or less see the final results. 1 year for everything to fully stablise. you're considered normal-fast healer already.

Hi people, this is my 11th day post op, and the swelling on my face, lips and nose hasnt really go down at all. My face is still puffy after the lipo, my lips are healing but the results after my lips reduction is not apparent. Hopefully, it is the swelling.
I'm most worried about my nose. I find that the size of my nose isn't much of a difference, which means the alar reduction is not good enough. Also, my tip is really round! The worst thing is that I find that my upper bridge ( the one inbetween our eyes) is way too high
I definitely look weird from the side view! Sigh.. will this bridge actually go down? Can someone please advise me? I think my nose looked really fake now.
