Can i ask what Dr Chuang told you about buccal fat removal vs face lipo during your consultation? Also did the procedure hurt? i heard they put a needle in ur jaw area which sounds scary... Thankyou & good luck in ur recovery. Stay positive!

Dr Chuang told me that buccal fat removal is an old procedure that is not being widely done nowades (anyway, I was quite skeptical on this because I heard of people doing it still). He said that people who do buccal fat removal might be left with sunken cheeks so he recommended me to try with facial lipo first; specifically the lower cheeks. The area of fat he sucked is similar as the area of buccal fat removed.

I was on general anethesia so I don't know how did the procedure went or if its painful or not hee. The post op doesn't really hurt too, just swell, bruise and slight discomfort cus have to wear the "head-band" to wrap the head. I'm wearing it now as I type... :-|
kalyn can i know if the facial lipo surgery u did with dr chuang made any difference to ur face (did it make ur face narrower or ur cheeks smaller?) thank u girl!! :)

i've been reading ur blog, thanks very much for sharing your whole experience, i've learned alot from ur blog.. :) i hope u grow to like ur nose even more as the days go by!

u mentioned u did malaplasty and facial lipo.. is malaplasty = cheekbone shaving? did the cheek lipo make any diffference to ur face, ie make ur face narrower?

thanks :)
Yeah I did cheekbone shaving - that was the major difference I found because my face looked to me really long after I had this done with the chin implant. Cheek lipo I checked in the mirror and I do think it made a difference it makes my face more v shaped if that make sense from the front and oblique views.

Glad you enjoyed my blog I did it to help others understand what I went through. I do think malaplasty (cheek or jaw shaving) is a major surgery and you should prepare yourself if you ever try it.

Yeah I think give it another 3 months to a year it will finally settle and I can see the final result until them I just hope it stays the shape I want. :)

Also if you do facial lipo your face will puff up and swell for at least a couple of weeks so you wont really see any noticeable difference until 1 month+
takuda wrote: hey! very funny video..lol..u mentioned double chin in the video(which i totally don't see), so what did you do to remove that?
I think a combination of being in a hot country and a liquid diet for over a month and also the chin implant. I lost about 8-9 kgs after surgery because I couldnt eat any solid food. I put all my weight back on tho. :)

You must try to get warm packet to your face,i think it works to me.
Kalyn what do you think about the nurse in Dr.C clinic?I think they are laughing when they see me... i such have bad felling for them,i dont know.thats what i feel
I see, at least the swelling is going down, that's a good thing. Unlike mine, I've bruises around my eyes which makes me look like the ultimate panda. :-| I'm removing my stiches on Saturday so we're on different days, although we did the nose surgery on the same day

Which nurse are you referring to? The receptionists wearing their own clothes, or the ones in pink uniforms? I didn't really notice about them, I thought they were okay. Don't worry, I believe they've seen many others like us too. Don't think tooo much ya? You're going to be pretty once you recover! :D

Does anyone know how long after surgery can we then apply make up?

Do we have to wait till the nose stiches are removed?

Thanks :D

I did

- malaplasty (Cheeks - big difference with this surgery)
- cheek lipo (no buccal fat removal - no idea if it worked either)
- botox on both sides (no idea if it worked either)
- chin implant medpor (wings not button)
- rhino - osteo, base alar reduction, gortex implant (I did think it was silicon since that was my first choice but Dr C explained to me why he eventually choose gortex)

Hey Kalyn,

Yeah I know its a big shock you gonna be looking at your nose changing each day. I was like that for the first 3 weeks then eventually I stopped looking. It will take at least 3 months for your nose to look natural. I mean it will look natural to other people within a month but yourself probably will notice until about 3 months. The first 1-2 weeks my bridge looked too high and my nose looked bloated but that was just because of the swelling.

I had to wear the headband also but after 2-3 weeks I couldnt wear it while sleeping so I stopped using it.
Wow, you're sure one brave man! I'm already feeling like living hell with four procedures done, and coincidentally, we had 3 similar procedures  I heard that Malaplasty(cheekbone shaving) is really painful, may I know how long did it took for you to look normal(as in to be able to face the public and meet friends)?

For botox on jaw, is this your first time? If it is, I heard we gotta wait for a few months, and even that, the results will be subtle. The difference will only be significant after a few jabs.

I'm now very concerned about my face lipo-ed. The fats/swell on my face seems to be at my lower cheeks. Is this normal for you too? I'm afraid the fats will "xia-chui", if you know what I mean. :???: Can I ask did you wear the headband very tight or just nice? Cus when I wear it very tight, my jaw hurts after a long while, but when I wear it just nice, it doesn't seem to help to push the fats up. *faints*

Yes yes, my bridge looked really high and wide, I feel like an alien!! Dr. Chuang told me it's still swelling and it will decrease in height and size. Sigh, hopefully. I just can't wait to see the final results. Living in fear to go public now everyday... :(

harajukugirl wrote: hi kalyn! thanks for the price breakdown girl.. it's very helpful! :) btw, are the prices u mentioned just for doing each procedure individually, or are they after a discount?

the eyebrow sulcus pad surgery is something i first heard about from cupid^n^starz, it gives the effect of a brow lift and makes your brow project further over your eyes to give it a more deepset, eurasian look :)

the eye levator muscle one is operating on the muscle itself so the eye can open bigger, and thus look bigger too.

i hope your swelling goes down soon, take care girl!
No prob dear, just sharing something I know. The prices that I mentioned is individual, the package price will only be slightly discounted. At least that's it for my case. Dr. Chuang didn't give me much discount. But I think it's on individual basis.

OHH, so the eyebrow succus pad surgery is that! I always thought to get the deepset, eurasian look eyes (something like what dawn's did), forehead argumentation is required. Or maybe it's both surgeries?

Eye levator muscle to make the eyes bigger? Are you talking bout epicantoplasty? Cus I've only heard of epicantoplasty surgery that will widen your eyes.

Thanks for well wishes :D

Hi, I can't tell you yet. Cus I'm not even sure myself, it's post 1 week op and my face is swollen and bruised. It even looked bigger than my normal face before op. Dr. says I'll have to wait for 2 months for 80-90% of results to be seen.

Going under GA

Post by grumpy99 » Fri, 15 Jun 2007 8:03 pm

Hi Kalyn, I;m going to Dr Chuang soon. And I'll be going under General Anaesthesia. Did you react badly to GA? How was it? I'm a little scared cos I've never gone for any surgery before. Was there an anaesthetist there? Thanks!

Hi Takuda, I'm going in August. I'm going with family members! I don't dare to fly Jetstar (especially back from Taiwan to SIN cos it's post-op and I need a more comfortable flight) so chose SQ instead.

I think for men, Dr C's recommendations will be different right? According to what I read in this thread, he had done goretex for Imjase instead of silicon. For me, he immediately said Korean L implant plus alar plus tip.

I'm staying for 10 days but haven't decided on the hotel. Deja Vu just sounds a bit dodgy and like love hotel leh. I really don't know. I'm thinking maybe the Fullerton or Les Suites Da An nearby.

---

hellos! when are you intending to visit dr chuang? i don't wanna travel aloneeeeeeeeeeee. yeah, NT 60 000, reasonable..i calculated and think the total amt of $ spent will be S$5k plus..including air tics, accom..(not SQ of course) weird thing is..dr chuang didn't recommend me Korean L implant! haha, i also have wide, fleshy and round nose..but he said the material and implant is up to me..more and more going for dr chuang..lol. :D[/quote]

kalyn,

I think you should wait a week and a half after surgery before applying makeup.

Oh no, how is your nose right now? What happened?? Hope you're feeling alright now.. What time is your appointment with Dr.Chuang tomorrow? Mine is 9.30am. If we're at the same time, we sure can go together. :) Is your friend still in Taiwan with you now?

Hi grumpy, what do you mean by reacting badly? I think it was fine, I was asleep all the way and when I woke up hours later, the surgery was already over. I've never gone for any surgery nor been jabbed with any kind of anethesia before this too, so I guess you don't have to worry. :) Ah and yes, there was an anathestist there.
