As far as how many mm you wants... it depends on each person's eye shape. For some 5 mm is perfect... for others, not enough. Take a toothpick or your fingernail and carefully make a crease on top of your eye. Show the doc what is ideal to you.
Most of the time, the doc will put pressure on your eye using a toothpick like tool before doing surgery; (this tool will actually show him a double eyelid when he is putting pressure on it) he is trying to determine where to cut or sew to make the best height for your eye. Ask him for a mirror to see this when he does this... and tell him when the crease he makes is too low, or high... ALWAYS be very sweet and polite... your eyes are in his/her hands...

I think mine currently looks more like parallel but the cease is not high .... duhz

Parallel is when the crease is parallel to the top of your eye... Most Caucasians, Blacks, Middle Easterners have this.
you can get high, medium, or low crease with any of these.

is it true to say that after epicanthoplasty (KYT / KYW), your crease will become parallel rather than tapered?

yep... if you epican, it pulls that layer of skin up, so it becomes parallel.
umm... appletree... I don't know how much. The only way to know is actually try to create what you desire for a second with your fingernail and then try to estimate the difference.

aadvark...
actually, I was wrong on the epican... it doesn't necessarily because sometimes the pull created is not that much.
sorry.

appletree, when i did my eyelids, the doctor used the toothpick to create the crease and show me in the mirror, until i was satisfied... think it'd be the same with other PS also

Hi appletree,
if your natural double eyelid is 6mm-7mm, then have to do according to your natural mm, cant increase mm, otherwise will have 2 diff creases on your eyelid.
I have a gf natural double eyelid is 9mm, before she did, she check with the dr at KALO, he said have to follow 9mm.
Btw, you doing stitching or cut & stitch?

Hi kaka,
my previous one is cutting & stitching also, dont know why turn out so natural until cant see my double eyelid crease liao, have to put stickers everyday so tired..
I consult KALO, they said just cut away my excess skin & fats on my eyelid, then remove the hidden stitch in the eyelid fold ( helps to form the double eyelid) & then can redo to a higher crease.Sounds very simple like that keke

Hi kogal87,
I never hide at home, just go out coz all my stitches are inside my nostrils cant see from outside.
No need to bandage, coz no cut no stitches outside my nose, all inside nose.
you consult KALO ?
