appletree,

alar helps with the width of the nostril base plus nostril size i think..according to dr chuang(which i agree) that it won't help by purely using an L implant cause it will still remain fleshy, so the most u get a small fleshy nose(no tip definition) which we all want. also not everybody can have L implant like yen, if ur skin is not thick enough i think there will be side effects sooner or later..extrusion(?)..so if u have a bulbous nose(like me) i think dr chuang/jung is the best cause he uses I implant which is safer and less prone to complications at the tip and he uses ur own cartilage to define ur tip(autologous, won't have rejection), also some defattening thing at the nose tip to help with the fleshiness. so we can have a not fleshy nose, and smaller width and also natural projection at the tip. in my opinion, other than accomodations plus air tickets, dr chuang is the most ideal. some more, comparing just the surgical fees, it makes no much difference after apple tree said its 6k plus RM, which is 3k plus S$.

KEke...i have just called KALO.

Here's some infor for u guys.

KALO do not do tip grafting. They only have L shape implants for goretex as per what tanjhj mentioned.

Kalo charged Epicanthoplasty $2800 rm

Korean L shape implant incision with alar is $6088 rm

The girl whom i speaked to is indeed very friendly. keke.

I've asked her if goretex will last & she told me that goretex can last for a life time unless its like if 10-20 yrs later got newer technologies come out or newer implant designs, then we might choose to replace the implant.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. All those i need are in TW/korea! btw this shows that tanjhj does have substance in his info and research, and that prove you haters wrong.

and oh, just an additional information, for those considering going to KALO for nose. THEY ONLY OFFER L-SHAPED IMPLANT! boo, as mentioned by dr chuang, if u have a bulbous, fleshy nose, L implant will only make ur nose BIGGER. :(

takuda,

I don't agree with what you said.

Hi all,

I used to have a bulbous nose as you can see from my before photos at pg 359,
but not anymore as you can see from my After photos.

Any type of implant also can make your nose bigger as you can read from Kogal87 & ahmeilover post, even I implant too.

So doctor skills are very important, my case is a very good example keke. :P

A few months ago before I did my L implant at KALO, someone from this forum also told me for my case I have to use Open, I implant & ear cartilage/ Full Korean style then can achieve the nose I want.

Guess what? I went to KALO to consult directly despite of the "advice" given by someone from this forum, KALO told me a L implant & alar will solve all my problem.

I think best to go down to KALO to consult directly despite of the "advice".If KALO can solve your bulbous nose/problem, they sure said can, if can't do anything they will tell no to you.

When I think back, luckily I go consult KALO directly, coz have a friend whom went to Taiwan to do the full korean nose prefer my nose than hers.

I think doctors skills & experience are very important, regardless of what type of method open/close or L/ I implant used. Most important, is the after PS results.
:P :P

hi ahmeilover!

Post by kogal87 » Thu, 19 Apr 2007 10:44 pm

dear ahmeilover

we r so similar!
i cannot say that dr sukit did a bad job
because my nose is now VERY SHARP with a very obvious bridge
it IS nice!

HOWEVER,
because he refused to do alar for me, i ended up with a nice sharp nose BUT fat at the base, cuz its STILL fleshy! =(
so in conclusion, my nose is still not nice.

how about you? do u experience the same problem?

i will be going down to KALO to see what the surgeon has to say...cuz i really want a perfect nose, since i have already took a 1st step..i cant just leave it lying IMPERFECT like what it is now...since plastic surgery is all about perfection...

and anyway like what yen said, its so convenient to just take a bus from singapore..
unlike my previous trip to thailand -_- (byebye air tickets and hotel accomodation!)

wanna go together?
i'll be going in may, after my exams!

Is it normal to replace nose implants after some years? How realistic is it to expect it to last for your whole life with no complications?

Thank YOU!!!!

Check out this forum 20 yrs later. You may get an answer.

Please ask the surgeons instead of forummers for this kinda future advice and the topic abt implant duration has been discussed enuff times.

Hi kogal87,

Alar is a very small operation compared to Nose implant, no bruises, no much swelling too.

For my Alar, all my stitches are hidden inside the nosetril so it's not a problem going out..KALO really did a Good job!!!

No need to remove implant if you want to do Alar coz won't affect the implant in anyway, yes you can return directly to Singapore after Alar.
