hey i'm having my eyelid surgery at Malaysia,Penang-Batu lanchang,Dr.Loh Clinic. It is wonderful and i like the result. I did it when i was 18 (now 28) and it looks natural and no one notice on that is the result of laser eyelid surgery :)

If you visit to Penang you can ask about Batu lanchang Dr.Loh Laser Clinic.Just along the road side before the police station. He is famous in eyelid surgery. For liposuction & nose job , go to Dr.Lee Loh Guan Lye. I will go next week, it is my fren recommendation. About Rm10k for whole body liposuction (with a guarantee of 10-15Kg fat removal) together with nose job :)
Girlly, did u go to Dr. Lee Loh Guan Lye? How is the result for the rhinoplasty? And how much the cost??

1. Actually, what I'm looking for is 'really' Jaw implant . Not chin implant, and i know bout chin implant, but it's different .

2. Jaw augmentation also known as mandibular augmentation is the use of synthetics or biologicals to augment, or make the jaw bone structure of the face more prominent. It can give balance to an otherwise less defined face or further augment an already existent mandibular structure.

3. As far as i know, its rather complicated surgery that need more detail and attenton to done by the doctors that experienced on it.

4. Because ,i thought it was so rare to do in asia. ***!!!!*** NO, it is common. ***!!!!*** you're looking at the wrong department.
Hello backhere03,

Yeah, this posting is indeed clearer; as with chin implant, the jaw implants is inserted similarly with a chin implant. (just different location) Incision are made on either side of the lower lips to 'insert' the implant.

Very few cases of jaw surgery came to plastic surgeons, but yet; they are not rare! you're looking at the wrong category, also is cosmetic surgery. This is more to the cosmetic dentistry, these surgery is commonly done by a specialist dentist.

Although a plastic surgeon can perform such procedure, but they're not the surgical specialists for a jaw implants. Teeth, Mouth, Jaws and facial structures reconstruction/ contouring is done by a

1. Plastic surgeon, who's sub-surgical training includes Maxillo-Facial Surgery.

2. Dentist, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

3. Plastic surgeons, can do a jaw surgery too; just like any surgeon can do plastic surgery, because under the medical law. As long the surgeon is trained in General surgery, he can handles them already; to be a plastic surgeon, they'll have to undergo more specialised training.

If you want a evaluation of the jaw surgery, drop me a email with a front & side photo of yourself. Privacy is respected, don't worry.

Sincerest regards,

Keke, i'm not a doctor; i'm a medical agent - i'd underwent an extensive course on various plastic surgery, and had seen many real life results.

Thanks to the goodwill & willingness to share information with me, of the thai-surgeons.

The hospital has been mentioned a couple of times in the thread, which the price offered by them is attractive - but may very well leave you with a bargain-basement face.

Dear Min U,

I'm surprised you'd asked so many questions here in sentence form; haha, maybe points-form is clearer. Anyway, my answers are as follows.

1. For everyone, to make trips overseas esp. involving medical treatment, require a very careful planning; please feel free to ask questions. But, maybe on email (as intended, more information with chin implants etc.)

2. Some folks like booo (in earlier threads) seeking onlyRhinoplasty, they may like to know that they can be handled by some other physicians other than a plastic surgeon - Otorhinolaryngologist.

In some cases, if the nose job is more complex; the responsible plastic surgeon will often refer the patient to them. (also known as ENT specialist)
However this is not going to happen in Thailand. Why not see the otorhinolaryngologist straight?

3. Chin implants

The surgery is about 90minutes; the chin implant is made of silastic rubber, the incision is made inside my mouth (the area btw. gums and chin region), implants is inserted thru this incision - to the chin.

The incision is closed with dissolving stitches.

A tape is placed over the chin & under the haw to support the implant for 5-7 days.

Post-Ops, i've some swelling and bruising; the bruises dissappear in the 2nd week (for me) & the swelling last for about 3 weeks for me.

(It is reported that swelling can last up to 3 months)

After the surgery, my chin/ jawline felt very sore & tender for about 3 days, and currently i've a a very mild numbness in the chin (3rd month).

The numbness is reported to last up to 9 months.

I didn't had complications, but the possible complications 're as follows;

*Internal bleeding indication:: Uneven swelling.
*Nerves damage indication:: Lost of sensation.
*Implants slipping indication:: Uneven swelling.

Complications for chin implant is quite rare, but however for chin implants; they may moved alittle bit with time, living habit (like sleeping 1 sided on pillow etc); most of the time, our naked eye won't be able to identify such movements.

But if the movement is obvious, it will require a surgical repositioning.

4. I'd done a writeup on the procedure above, as i also hope to demystifies some people's thought of cosmetic surgery; i've emails from people, who asked me if they can go for beach games at Pattaya; after a Liposuction treatment, which is a day before! .::.

5. Nice to know, Liposuction in the lower limb; buttock, thighs etc. you should not attempt light exercises for the 1st 2 months - post ops.

6. To Guest / Min U, there're many types of Rhinoplasty; please email me for more information for this.

Sincerest regards,

Forget the agents! They cost more coz you have to pay for their services too! If you want to do surgery in Bangkok, from my own research ( own opinion), I'd only go to Bumrungrad Hospital. The accommadations provided by the hospital is very reasonable plus you're reassured that the surgeons are qualified although you may pay a little more for the medical services compared to other thai surgeons. the expertise that you'll get makes up for it coz u wouldn't want your face in the hands of a not very expert surgeon. Go into their website & look for all the info. Its all there. Airfares to Bkk are cheap now. got get one from your local travel agent! If you're really interested & serious about doing surgery. you must do your own research & not just believe anything anyone tells you. arm yourself with knowledge about the procedures. the effort will pay off.

Sorry for the double posting

Post by medictbp » Sun, 14 Aug 2005 2:27 pm

Sorry for the double posting, i just double click leh!

To: backhere03,

It'll be good to know that a jaw augmentation, is similar to a chin implants; all the post-op, complication is similar.

->
For fees etc. there're medical agencies who charge more; like Gorgeous Getaway, or some other medical agencies who cover hotel & flights etc.

but there're medical agents like me who don't charge additional fees.

As mentioned in very early posting, there're only 2 medical agents; who don't charge extra fees etc. 1. www.medicalthailand.com & 2. me, myself.

Cheers.

Some hospitals have their medical agents, and esp. when u see that they can reply in french, german, italian, chinese etc.

I'm such a medical agent at the moment, but 'shared' by a few hospitals together.
