I am a male. My needs might be slightly different since I work in TV/Music hence I explained to him that my objectives was to have the best facial ratio in pictures and film and he understand the look I was trying to achieve after we went through several photos. I did virtual photoshop on my face and we talked over my concerns.

It has been 5 days now since I had surgery and my swelling has gone down about 50%.

Procedures I did.

1) Open rhino (L Shape Silicon Implant) Base Alar reduction, osteotomy to make the bridge narrower and the implant was a sharp narrow one to raise the height of my nose. I have a high bridge anyways but I wanted to raise the profile more.

2) Chin Implant Medpor

3) Facial contouring - Cheekbone shaving to make the face more defined and sharper from the front angle.

4) Cheek Liposuction to reduce the face from front angle.

5) Botox on jawline to slim the face.

Main reasons were:

a) He really listened to what I wanted in terms of outcome of surgery and we went through alot of emails and spent 5-6 hours face to face consultation. I did it twice day before op because he had alot of ops to do.
b) He cleared the whole day for my surgery.
c) I explained to him that the most important thing for me was 1) We achieve good and the desired expected results. 2) There was no complications in surgery. He achieved both objectives for me.

I did stay at dejavu hotel but I moved to a better hotel because I couldnt deal with the air in that particular hotel. For me if the air isnt right in the room its very hard for me to sleep and I start coughing.

I post a bit later my post-op experience but so far there hasnt been anything negative from the op only parts was I wasnt mentally prepared for that many surgical ops and there are certain things you also have to understand about your own body which you might not be aware of before op.

My swelling and bruising has gone done very quick compared to when I came out of surgery my face was like 3 times the size but dramatically reduced in size in 48 hours. I couldnt open my eyes properly for 2 days. After 1 day I could open them slightly for like 5 seconds a time.

I didnt take sinnech and I have to be on liquid diet for 2 months.
(This is because if you do any facial contouring jaw shaving or cheek shaving you need 2 months before you can fully eat solid food again.)
how much did you spend? for each procedure? and i thought dr chuang uses goretex?
open rhino - 60,000 NTD
facial contouring - 150,000 NTD
chin aug with medpor - 60,000 NTD
liposuction of cheek - 50,000 NTD
botox was roughly 400 USD each cheek.

You can use gortex but problems will arise if you want to correct it in future. Since my 2nd highest priority was no complications - We discussed the pros and cons of using hard gortex and for me there was more risk with gortex than silicon to get results I want and there isnt really any problem with me getting corrections in the future and we discussed risk of retraction and extrusion also. Also money was no objective for me so we could have used gortex if required but as I highlight below this is the reasons I choose silicon.

a) Since I have thick skin the rise of entrusion and retraction was minimal if performed with open rhino and by a skilled surgeon.
b) Entrusion and retraction is common in closed rhino.
c) Silicon can be easily removed via closed procedure in future and complications can be spotted by the first month.
d) Gortex if you get infection etc bears more risk of complications the longer the gortex is left in since it grows on you.
e) I would get better results.
f) He said he will try all different kind of implants anyway for me during the op but I told him my first choice was silicon L implant.
g) I can always get the implant removed in the future with minimal complications if I wished.

Oh and I do think Dr Chuang is honest and not money hungry because I asked him to give my gf a face to face consultation and recommend procedures that she needed. He evaluated her and said she didnt need any procedures if she really wanted to just a filler for the top part of her nose bridge but other than that it was all fine.
About the gpretex or silicon thing, although i prefer goretex, i have to leave it to the surgeon to decide which is best for me. i agree with you though, that it can be removed in future, etc, but who wants to remove man? haha..

oh..i agee that dr chuang is not money hungry..he recommends the best for you.. :)

Hi all, just like to share what Dr Chuang has suggested for me..

This is Dr. Chuang replying your e-mail letter. I just saw your pics. You have flat bridge and bulbous tip, which is very difficult to be corrected to a very small one. However, you can still get a defined and narrow nose with some procedures. For your case I think you might need to take:
1. Open rhinoplasty with dorsal augmentation with implant/Goretex, tip narrowing with defatting procedure and cartilage reposition, alaplasty with nostril reduction, and tip projection with septal cartilage graft. The cost of above procedures is NT60000 totally except you choose Goretex for material option, which would be added another NT8000 on it.
2. Corrective osteotomy of nasal bone: If you really like a similiar nose with those idols, I think you might need this optional procedure. It can make your nose look more narrowing and sharp. However it is not a mustbe procedure. If you want to take it, you should pay NT10000 additionally for the general anathesia fee.

If you have any other questions please feel free to let me know.

Jimmy Chuang

I think mine not as complicated as tanjhj's.. :D

Last year before & after my eyelid surgery, I continue smoking nonstop. Aiyah, personally I don't care, but then again, my case is not rhinoplasty. Maybe you can reduce your daily dosage of tar&nicotine to around less than 5 sticks per day. (I smoke around 20sticks per day).

So far my eyelids have no complications, but slight irritation whenever my eyes encounter smoke. (Who don't?)

Maybe you try sucking in lesser. Or buy those Ultra lights cigarettes. (Those 1mg-5mg tar ciggees)

Non-smokers won't understand the feelings of us when we aren't able to breathe in our "fresh air".

Maybe our Head of PS, Ocean can tell you more. Dajie.. got smoke after procedures anot?
Hmmm... what should I do next? Cheekbone reduction maybe?

From the feedback of Dr Chuang that i read on Taiwan forums, i do not think he is good in liposuction/body sculpturing. When i say not good doesn't mean he sucks ok! He is highly recommended in boob and nose jobs, nobody raves about his liposuction that's why i say he is "not good" in liposuction.

From the Taiwanese gals i know (my colleagues), they go to Zhang Jiu Ming for liposuction. This Zhang Jiu Ming is really very very popular, many stars goes to him. Mention his name, almost everyone will know him. Like our Woffles Wu. But i heard he didn't have a degree related to plastic surgery, his is a normal GP cert.

Hehe.. Nice to find other smokers.. For awhile I thought I was the only one! Let me know how you surgery goes, ok? Does your doctor speak English? If he does, do you mind giving me his email add? I am planning to go back to Korea for revision rhinoplasty to correct my crooked implant and perhaps define my nose a little more because they are more familiar with goretex. My first choice is Jung, but cost is also a consideration. Also, I am also a little scared to mess around with my nose again... going through the initial recovery period was a nightmare, and worried that I may not like my new nose!

Jovinliu

Keep us informed about your revision double eyelid surgery ok? Although my eyes are ok, I am thinking of getting a revision to get a higher parallel crease. If Dr Chuang does a good job with you, maybe I'll go to him!

Also, one question... I am planning to have revision lipo. From your research on Taiwanese forums, do you know if he is any good in this area? I am still deciding whether to go to Dr Chuang, or to go to Sappo. I visited Sappho last time I was in Taiwan and I really liked the service. However, I am a little apprehensive because apparently noone really talks about them in the forums and that they have allegedly photoshopped their results? What do you think?

For nose im going to dr.chuang. Was planning to go the end of May.
However Ive been thinking of getting my eyes done as well so the surgery might be a little later in the year, have to search etc.
Dr Chuang seems to work better with male eyes rather than females, so i have to look for someone that does MAGIC with female eyes.*harhar*

i heard of someone thats not far from dr chuang office ..
