Any gd docs in spore who does a gd alarplasty??
Hi peeps, im considering of doin a alar reduction in spore. Yet i was unsure abt which doc r professional in this surgery. Any recommendation? Money is also a constraint for me.. My budget is abt 2K.. Any one of u here done it? N hows the after effects like?? like when will the scar heals? Thanks to any1 who can help me

i watched too, but i nv notice much, lol, think he went for an implant that added little (ard 0.2cm if i'm right), and cost 2k.
i'm also interested abt implant to build a longer nose. a surgery by an average surgeon alone in singapore could cost close to 2-3k. for well known ones, should exceed 5k mark.
thailand is a good choice for cheap rates.. think the doctors there mayb more experience since its more common there..
but with the surgery costs and medication, hotel, flights and transport, may come add up to high 1k or more? i'm calculating these myself..if somebody cld give a better sum is good.

Hi Ceci and Booo, boooo wrote:i was thinking of doing alar too. dr martin huang at paragon should be reliable.. but i have no idea about the price..
I've just had a consultation with Dr. Martin Huang last Fri which costed around S$150 (depends on the time, I had around 20 - 25 mins) and I had an ala reduction with another doc 2.5 yrs back in Mt. E which I was not happy with. So I can share with you some of the info.
For ala reduction, it may not help much if your nose is like mine, an up turn nose, cos the scar will be quite visible. That why this time I'm think of (1) further ala reduction + (2) sharpening the nose tip, reduce some cartilage at the side to make it look less round and to lengthen it so that it's not up turn any more, (3) augment the bridge.
Dr. Martin Huang is really prof and to the point, he tell you what he will do and what materials to use: e.g. for my case, he will peel of a small pcs from the L-shape silicon to augment the bridge so that it won't be too high and another heart shape pcs to lengthen the tip. The surgery will be an open approach, take 4 hrs and cost around S$11,740.
My first ala reduction at Mt E with Dr. Yeap was not effective at all, it only costed me S$1,700 but result was almost zero, except the 2 scars left behind... also partly bcos my up turn nose was not fixed, so it's showing off the 2 scars at the corners. It's not obvious, but can see if anyone pay attention.
My only concern for going to Dr. Huang's clinic is (1) they use implant (septum cartilage can be used for the tip, but may not be enough for the bridge, also more expensive). (2) cost. Am thinking of going to Korea for the Rhino cos they don't use silicon implant, but someone, Pink or Pinky posted in this forum that she went to Korea, but the result was disappointing... so I'm not sure now... can't make the decision... pls. feel free to comment on my case too.

Mmm... I won't use nice and patient to describe him....but his is very to the point and really will answer all your questions, even some I asked half way and forgot, he reminded me even! ha ha... remember he charged by time, so really you must organize yourself. You can ask for previous patient pix too, it's in his PC. You can also print out some b4 and after pix from web-site to tell him the look that you are aspire to, he will comment whether it's suitable / feasible or not. But he got no computer graphic thingy to generate the pre-dicted look, I heard some clinic in JPN and Korea has such service.boooo wrote:rabbit.. im having a consultation w dr huang nxt friday
cost of operation will be my priority. if it's too ex, i will probably turn to dr fong.. in thomson medical. btw.. was dr huang nice and patient?:):)
Thx for your comment! $ is a big problem and I probably would finance it 50% with loan... sigh, so can't afford to have anything goes wrong... actually the price for going to Korea is almost the same as Dr. Huang, if excl all travel expenses... it's the implant that I worry most cos I'm thinking:
1) when I get old, my skin get loosen and cartilage shink... but not the implant, would be quite odd...
2) if I go for diving, or sky diving, under diff pressure, being diff materials, I'm not sure how will the implant would react inside... if expand more or reduce less... it may ended up become a diasester... I haven't asked Dr. Huang on my this silly thought... if you are worry too, you can ask him about this. Good luck!
