Eyebags

Post by Worried » Sun, 19 Jun 2005 3:35 am

Hi all,

I'm really not too sure if i've make the right choice.

I decided to go for surgical eyebag removing and has booked an appt with Dr Woffles Wu this Tues. Its a consultation cum operation straight. (close to $4.2k). *Think tat's the only way to remove my eyebags since young... After spending all the $$ on eye prdts, but still the same...

Although i've not consulted any other surgeons, online research was done and he seems to be a skillful surgeon.

Can anyone (operated by Dr Wu) give me ur kind advise regarding your experience.
- Is he a comfortable surgeon to talk to?
- Are you satisfied with his work? etc...

I'm really afraid the results might be diff as i think. He says the "Closed Technique" to remove eyebags only takes apprx a week to look natural..

Thanks in advance to all!

Few points:
1. He is pretty arrogant and do not listen patient's suggestions. This could be a gd point if all of his opnions are the BEST.
2. He is very expensive.
3. His estimates on recovery time is highly optimistic.

These r my opnions. Could b wrong

I've never had chance to go for his consultation, but I really feel that you are too rush in doing it. Maybe try for consultation first and see what he says and think it through. (ke po) Anyway, Good Luck!

To "worried guest". My advice is if you are not very sure whether your decision is right, go for second or third opinion. Be prepared with a list of questions and throw to all of them. From their replies, you will gather whether the ops is suitable for you and what are the possible complications. From the conversation, look for the one you are comfortable with and tell you honestly. Don't go for hardsell and the most optimistic one.
My suggestion is to have a mix of opinions from both private and public hospital surgeon. The consultation cost is less than S$100 per doctor and you will be assured of the best advise. The bottom line is: every patient's condition is different, if you get the same conclusion from all of the surgeons, you would conclude what is the step you should take and you can also choose the one you are comforatble with.
Good luck to you.

My serious advice to u is not to pay him any deposit for any surgery. Trust me when i say this. Just go for the consultation. But then, as someone who has gone to him before, I feel that u shld consult another doctor before u consult him. I mean it... Anyway, it is very easy to book a consultation appointmtent with him. He likes to pack patients on very tight schedules and the consultation becomes very short. At least that was my expereince.

My frend went gone to him to for an eye job. I had gone to another doctor. Both of us had gone to him for the first consultation. That was our first consultation with a plastic surgeon, by the way. And yes, my frend ended up making a decision that she is regretting today. U shld really go to another doctor (preferably one who is not a celebrity doctor, one who is known to hardsell or advertise aggressively). U will be abel to make a rational decision then.

We know wad it feels like, the desire to correct our flaws n etc. The hope is seemingly in front of you and u just want to grab the chance and get done with it. But pls, dont rush into it. Coz it is an illusion.

I would stronly suggest u consult someone from SGH (coz the docs dun hardsell). Heard that Prof Tan Kok Chai and Dr Colin Song are gd in their work.

I wish u luck. God bless...

breast implant

Post by coralreefs » Tue, 21 Jun 2005 10:48 pm

 been feeling lack of confidence somehow due to having small breasts and am blaming my failed relationships to it. I know some people talked about inner beauty etc but really, is that true? I am quite attractive, slim and in general a lucky girl, apart from that. Has anyone had breast implants and did it work?

rhinoplasty

Post by txbman » Thu, 23 Jun 2005 2:27 am

hi all! just wana share an experience with regards to rhinoplasty to any who may be keen...

me got to know this plastic surgery hospital through websites' browsings end may'05 and got into the enquiry info. guess wat? i flew over to bangkok, consulted with the doctor and proceed with the operation right after! on the operation bed with both hands lightly tighted, the only thing on mind was:'alamak! wat the hack am i doing??' when the doctor came in with his surgical cap, clothings, mask and eventually put on his plastic gloves with sounds of 'piak! piak!', i knew there was no way i can 'escape' my decision!...then i dreamt of going into graphical cartoonic images and by the time i woke up, i dreamingly went onto a wheelchair, then bed,...

well, count me lucky but this was the one and only consultation i've had and i just went on with the operation...and it turn out to be a great success for me! my spouse who went with me, kept staring at my now high-bridged nose with envy and admiration, sometimes jeolousy! it is not just a change for the better - it is a very Natural change for the best! no one would even have smelt a rat that i actually went for a plastic surgery on my nose! and the amazing part? - our shopping spree costs more than the surgery itself!

come to think of it, this may be a blessings in disguise for me since after i came back & look at this forum, i realised there have been talks about complications resulting from thai surgery. i wouldn't have been this brave should this was flashed before my scheduled appointment. anyway, important thing is: i am back now, alive and happy!

Hi I had liposuction done at Sinova too but mine was done by the other doctor. Well the only complains I have is that he is not so attentative when come to listen to your needs. I do not feel comfortable with him
I have to go back for mesotherapy for the touching up. I cannot comment that whether he had done a good job or not until I consult another Surgeon.
My friends had eyelid surgery done by him and the results are good.
However his price have double since the health centre has open. Not too cheap.

Heard of DR Fong. nose job =$2000
eyelid and eyebag sugery =$1600 ( my friends have done both surgery , not too bad but not the best)

Has anyone heard about the brazil doc at Deli in orchard?
Heard he is good at noise job

Let me tell you my pre-op body was pretty gross! :( Now I have a flat tummy and a gorgeous shape. I am in heaven! :P

I saw 5 docs before deciding, I went with the one I was most comfortable with. I went to Sinova Medical Cente, Dr. Seah. He's great! Very attentive and sincere. His nurses are also very knowledgeable and very helpful. I highly recommend them. They are located at Paragon medical centre #13th Flr. Their prices are reasonable. I love my Doc, he's the greatest!

Hi,

I went for the consultation with Dr Wu... & felt his quite a nice guy to talk to.. Not arrogant at all. A very experience surgeon, that's how i feel from the consultation.

I will be going ahead for the eyebag removing... Hopefully the price pays off :)
