voix wrote:should be fine. but what i would advise you(after being advise by others) is that it's good if you go in with a list of ready questions and at least some understanding of the basic procedure, risk and healing so that he would not need to restart on everything and can make the consultation more personal and he can focus on your needs, instead of re explainng the whole process(something i'm sure he must be very tired of already).
some pictures would be good as well to make sure that both the doctor and the patient are on the same page. at the same time, try to look out for some tell tale signs of what kind of surgeon he would be, is he patient? does he seem sincere in helping you achieveing your needs. when asking about costs, does he evade the questions or give very vague answers. one question to always ask is if there are any extra cost. WW normally doesnt give you a very good gauge of the price, he will evade questions or give you wide price range like from 2900 to about 4000 which i feel is too big a gap. ask whether revisions would be done free of charge and if refund or partial refund would be given in the place of revision if you really dont trust him to bring a knife to your face. sorry i think i type too much already. so naggy.

actually i saw 2 plastic surgeons b4 so i more or less know wad to ask.. i will show him my ideal nose pic n if he is able to help me achieve close to it or nt.. n oso will ask him risk of silicon extrusion.... and oso whether he insert implant from nostrils or mout.. i prefer from nostrils... cos insert from mouth seem gross to me.... n oso wil ask him abt recovery time, risks, cost, etc.... most impt he muz be able to show me past patients nose pics...

if a doc is unable to show me the other patients nose pics i deem him as nt trustable...

escadegirl... u having ur nose op on this tue rite? all the best n pray for u to achieve ur ideal nose.... do update here on ur progress too :)

dr fong. is he from ipss at tts hospital that dr fong? if he is then i think you're in quite good hands. cos i went there for job attachement and he explains in detail to the patient. shows you his previous works(if you ask for it) and he's very experienced. he doesnt charge as much cos he's nott he kind to publicise too much. very caring doctor as well.

Btw, Dr Jung uses what shape of implant?
Will Dr Sukit from yanhee show you his other patients before and after pic, and will he do a computer imaging or draw out your pic to let u have an idea your after-nose will look like?

iamdanny: yup. i just might if i'm doing it singapore. the biggest factor i would need to think about is that it would be quite embarrassing cos i know everyone there. but besides that, definitely dr fong from ipss.

vitamins: dr jung uses gortex i shape implant then for your tip area, he uses your won cartilage which makes it safer cos less chances of rejection and contraction. the disgusting pictures of these you can find in his website. really disgusting, those contractin pics of sillicon. dr sukit or rather yanhee in general do not do image stimulation. i ask dr sukit he never reply me at all! but the yanhee personel, who went to cehck with the doctor came back with this cannot, that cannot, but i mailed my picture to both dr kim and dr jung in korea and they tell me no problem. most people come here with this kind of nose and they actually do a lot before.

Hi all,

I have cancelled my appt for surgery for tomorrow. My bf was totally against it and he sort of went crazy and I was supposed to leave tonight. My hotel is booked, tickets bought,...but now...

Sigh. Looks like I can't choose what i want to do with my life.

Dear Escadagirl,

2 ways you can look at this:

a) your BF really loves you and is very very concerned for you, just doesn't know how to voice his concern correctly ( like a lot of parents? )

b) You've already made your choice, done your research, booked the hotel, bought the tickets. You're having the surgery to make yourself feel happier, not him, right?

You mentioned you can't choose what to do with your life... Well, you still can choose... You have to consider if your bf is often like this, preventing you from the choices you want to make for yourself and decide if he's who you want to be with and live with for a long time............ Can you live with someone who makes decisions for you all the time? Girl, you only have one life :)

Anyway, sorry for rambling on about this on this forum.... Just don't want you to end up like a friend of mine , this intelligent, capable and lovely girl who ended up unsure of herself and looking like a pale shadow of her former self just because the guy she chose to be with moulded her this way....

Thanks escadagirl for the info.

As for your dilemma, my advice is that its not worth falling out with your bf over this. I think if you insist on going, you wouldnt feel good about it and its important to have that peace of mind when you go into surgery.

So forget about the airtickets etc....hold your plans. I have a feeling that you rushed into it anyway. Try to convince your bf....if you decide to do it anyway, you can always do it next time. At least, you will not regret any of your decision when that time comes.

Hi guys.
Can anyone tell me if its better to get a double eyelid in Singapore or somewhere else? The charges in Singapore are really expensive compared to msia or thailand. Will the end results be better too since is much more expensive.

I wld really like to hear some advices, coz wanting to get double eyelids badly

Dolphin,

When you mentioned your friend, I felt as if I am your that particular friend, cuz people around me always tell me that I am like that!!! Im beginning to feel like a puppet. Everything I like get a NO from him. But thanks for those words, it knock some sense into me actually.

And yes spendalot,

I rushed into this surgery actually. It was more like a last min decision. I thought he would be supportive but I am wrong. And yes, what i wanted was to go for this with a peace of mind knowing that my bf is in this with me, so at least i know im not alone. But since he can't accept it now, guess I'll have to leave it to sometime later and see how it goes.

No matter what, I'll definitely do the surgery, I can't do now, but I'll still do it in the future. I only live once, I don't want to live with regrets. And Iamdanny, all the best for ur surgery. Hope you'll like ur new nose and do keep us updated about ur progress. All the best!
