perfectionista wrote:Hmmmm..okay. I emailed Dr sukit yesterday with my pictures and have just received his reply, and like what all of you said, he's only willing to do a subtle one.

This is an extraction of his reply to me by email:

"1. the bridge is really low and not difficult to make it higher by the implant
2.the tip is so broad because of the skin and some fat inside and you have to learn that this is the most difficult in asian patient to make it smaller and I think you have to accept that it may not be done
3. the alar base is not so wide but if you place the implant inside the nose the nostril may be smaller because the push by the implant above the nostril
4. alar reduction can be done in limited amount unless it will be too small and not fit to the broad tip and look ugly when you look at the nose as overall"

I THINK i get what he means, but then again i'm not a 100% sure. Is it not possible to sharpen my tip and make it less broad, or is it that he isn't willing to help me with it (well, judging from the comments the rest have given about dr sukit and his reluctant to do anything more than subtle). I want a smaller nose width and sharper nose tip, with also a higher bridge (the nose bridge btwn my eyes seems to not exist :-| ), but i dont think dr sukit is the right surgeon i need. I'm looking for something which isn't MJ-plastic, but i want something more than just a little change for my nose. :(

The problem is seriously annoying me. Sigh.

Jovin dear, think your taipei surgeon can help me with this problem? :)

Hi perfectionista, i'd also emailed dr sukit but i have yet to send him pics of my nose as i'm still considering if i should do my nose or dark eye rings first.

Like you, im also considering dr sukit or the taiwan doc jovin did awhile back. I think i have a wide nose with flat bridge. i want to heighten my bridge as well as reduce the size of my nose tip, and overall.

Im afraid my case will be same as yours. and dr sukit might not be the best for me. for now, i dont think i wanna take the risk of travelling all the way to taipei to look for dr hsu. i'm confused. wanna xchange pictures of our nose to compare n share more?
Hi roxygerrr!

I think you'd probably have to skip dr sukit if you're looking to do something about a broad nose tip. It seems like he's not going to be able to do much about it. Sigh.

Plus, i'm also looking at a L shaped implant and dr sukit only does the I shaped.

I am also thinking of Dr Hsu, but you know, there's also a possibility of him not being able to do much for us. Anyway, i probably will not be able to head there this year because i still have to save up for the surgery and accom (by Jovin's estimation, probably around SGD5000). That's not a small sum so it'd take some time. :(

When do you intend to go? I won't have anyone travelling with me, so if you're not going to go this soon, we could save up and make the trip together (could give each other some support!! :D )

Hehe this is a BIG quote.

Anyway hi perfectionista! I wanna do a L-shaped implant as well, that's my personal feel although i have yet to send any nose pics to doctors so i wont know what's their opinion for my nose.

Wanna exchange n share our nose pictures? maybe we are the same... but one problem with pictures is its sometimes hard to see the real nose shape. different angles produce different results, my nose is always different in pictures.

I wont be doing my nose so soon too as i'm more concerned over my dark eye circles... i wanna do IPL to get rid of them and its gonna cost a bomb. :( I hope i can do my nose after CNY next year as there will be some angpaos to collect. lol

hmmm maybe try to hide the fact from ur dad? i know its bad to lie to ur dad but u gt nt much choice too.
actually my parents din agree with my decision totally and i oso nvr tell them the truth behind my surgery... i told them my primary motive for nose surgery is to correct breathing prob cos rhinoplasty can oso solve breathing prob.... feel kind of guilty to lie to them...but i gt no choice.. if i tell them my primary purpose for rhinoplasty is to beautify my nose they sure scold me like dunno wad cos their mindset quite conservative...

but then i promise i will return them the money after i started working..

btw i jus called n book my consultation with dr seah chee seng at gleneagles hospital next tue... he will be doin L shaped implant for me at 3k plus( surgery+medication+after op review)

You are right, since I have made up my mind, I shouldn't be easily swayed by others. Most importantly, I must not regret my decision because ultimately I chose this road, noone else to blame. I do not have a big and ugly nose, its just small and has no bridge which looks funny on me as the rest of my face features are sharp and I have high cheeckbones as well.

I have decided to go to Dr Oh from penang due to the experience he has, and he is also one of the PS associated with Beautiful holidays if Im not wrong. I have read of good reviews about him from another forum. He uses L-shaped implant and this is what worries me too, but I shaped is not what I want, thats why I didn't choose to go BKK for rhino.

I just pray that everything will turn out fine. and that my parents will NEVER EVER find out. This coming Tuesday will be my surgery day.

i haf the same prob as u too. i gt small nose but with little or no bridge.. the rest of my features are quite sharp to me la so the nose is the only feature tt spoil my whole face... can't wait to cut it n change it lor.. haiz...

Heyah roxygerrr! Hahaha, yes it is a giant quote, so i have decided to stop quoting. Haha. (:

Anyway, i'm not going to do it this soon, 'cos of the $$$ involved. So we can save up and go together? Hehe.

I emailed dr sukit again regarding my nose, but his replies are vague. Hmmm. So where do you intend to do your nose at? I need to go with someone when the time comes, because i hate being alone during the 6-8 days of recovery. How about you?

And yeap, pictures may not show much. Sometimes it really depends on the angles.

What's your email add? Talk in msn? PM me! =D

You were saying can't exercise after the surgery. But if I do it overseas, don't I need to carry my luggage?
Can I opt to stay for days in the hospital? Anyone going in Dec? Anyone did it there before and the results are fantastic? Thanks.
Hi Wallflora, yr luaggage shld be packed light (max25kg) to avoid injury if u r travelling alone. u will be required to stay for 1 or 2 nights in the hospital. Most probably i'll be going in oct.

To me, safety is important. Like being able to find a reliable doctor in Singapore when something bad happens after surgery. Hope to spend around $10k only. I want something natural...not Pamela Anderson kind that sticks out in the centre. Cannot be too obvious too. My relatives will faint. Just want to look like I am wearing my maximiser when I am not
you can check out http://www.pai.co.th/.

The price wont be so ex as in $10K when you're doing it in bangkok. I believe there's no such tour for ps unless we arrange within ourselves.

iamdanny: well, they sure know it's not that cos i'e already been through that. hahas. when i was about 5 or 6 i think. to cure the sinus problem but it's still there for me. just not as bad. i told my mum i was very unhappy with my nose and that i felt very offended whenever people say i dont look like either of my parents. and she agrees. i look neither like my mum nor dad. so after some persuation, some good grades and some research to make sure that her daughter wont turn into some freak of nature, she relented. my dad would be that bit harder. so i'm doing it abroad. each to his own. but i hope that you have a wonderful nose at the end of it all. do share yarh. dont just disappear after you're through.

Thanks iamdanny & vitamins for your encouragement. I am actually a coward so this is considered a major decision for me. I hope everything goes well and the op will be a sucess with little or no swelling & bruising. Do keep the discussion coming in, so at least I know I am not alone in this...

I will update as soon as I get back, which is most probably on Saturday.
