Some people envy Angelina Jolie's strong jawline, some people hate it and wants to get rid of it. I belong to the party where i simply hates my strong jawline. There is a surgical procedure to slim this part down, but, it's very traumatising. What I do now, is to rely on botox....

Jovin, where did you get your botox done and How much? So far, the cheapest price they ever quoted me is 800 and I was told that can last for 6 - 8 mths. and I have to get another injection in 4 - 6 mths (depending on how long the effect can last). Another doctor quoted me 1000, but he said I need to have another injection in 8 weeks and that can last at least a year. :???:

Does it painful or affect your routines? Cause I'll probably get it done during lunch time and have to be back at office after that

Hi Leenaaa and Koreangirl,

May I know when would you like to go to Dr. Jung? I may need a revision quite soon. Recently the pokking out cartilage and tip has infection and I'm on antibiotics injection now (pills not strong enough).

I'm thinking of removing everything in HK if needed, then I can have a peace of mind for the rest of my life, can't take the risk of worrying about infection and take antibioics all the time.

Am also thinking of going to Dr. Jung to see if I could use costal cartilage to replace my gortex so that my look won't change so much, but he has not replied my email for a few days already.

FYIP, Dr. Kim is surprisingly nice, he ask me to go back asap and he will treat me for free as this is part of his service for post op patient... but he didn't mention how he is going to treat me. The part that I hate most is Korean doc always don't share their knowledge, we are patient and we need to know ma!!!

Another impt point FYI too, I was so surprise that the doc in HK told me that my pimples on the nose could be one of the cause for the infection!!! Gosh, a US$5000 worth of pimple. According to him, the germs in the pimple can attack the implant as well since it's part of the skin. And I recall I had a very bad pimple, a giant one a few weeks a ago... so all rhino better be careful orh!

Rdgs,
Rabbit in desperate...
P.S. I love my new nose very much, but may have to farewell it soon... better take some photos, at least I had it for 4 mths... whenever I think about it, I really want to cry...

Hi Voix,

Thx, the PS in HK said that if after antibiotics injection finished and problem starts to come back, then no choice, it has to be removed. Base of the stiffness of my tip, we both suspect that the gortex is put not just for the bridge, but all the way to the end with a piece of ear cartilage to protect the tip. According to Dr. Jung's web-site, the implant should be just for the bridge and tip is our own tissue. I'm not sure how he could do it, where can he harvest so much own tissue.

Hannah, may I know if you can feel the implant is at the bridge only? Is your tip soft and can do "piggy nose" (don't do that if you haven't and if you are worried). Just want to compare.

But having said that. Dr. Kim's sewing skill is really excellent, many doc can't even notice that I do open rhino and PS in HK all say the wound healed excellent. I saw Dr. Jung's pix, guess his skill is equally good. Having had a surgery done by Dr. Yeap in SG, just alar plasty that kind of easy job, he gave me no significant result with 2 big scar, I think Korea doc in terms of skill is really good. Sigh... but they are so far and away...

Oh... back to my point, voix, if you are just simply reducing the width of nose, ie alar, I strongly recommend you to try Dr. Jung, or Kim also can cos there's not much risk involved as compare to having implant.

Rdgs,
Rabbit

Rabbit,

I'm sorry to hear about your infection, I had no idea pimples can cause bacteria to attack the implant??? Was the pimple right at the tip of your nose or how did it spread the bacteria? Now I'm also worried cuz of my goretex, it looks and feels fine now but what about later?

My tip is all my own cartilage, or that's what Dr. Jung told me. Its still a bit stiff but I think that's normal. From reading other rhino boards it seems like the tip is hard and swollen for most ppl for quite a long time. So I'm assuming that the goretex is only used for the bridge. God I hope so cuz from what I've read you should never put silicone or goretex all the way to the tip, tip should always be cartilage. But I was under the impression that Dr. Kim also put cartilage at the tip.....

I agree that the korean docs are really skillful when it comes to making incisions cuz my alar scars are quite faded and invisible already. My open scar is still a bit pink but nobody can really see it. So if anyone just needs alar reduction maybe you can go see a korean doc.

Rabbit, hope to hear that your infection clears up. It must be so scary for you.....best of luck with things!

AhMei Lover,
I would love to get the alar done (really regret not doing it together with the rhino), but don't know when that will be :( My hubby is totally against any surgery, so i have to do it only when he is away (for at least 2 weeks) - and dont see that happening for a looonnngggg time.

In anycase, I will likely go back to Dr Harry Fok for the alarplasty. Good luck for yours if you do go ahead!

rabbit: OMG! i didnt know that pimple can also cause infection. i must be more careful when doing it already. very pimple prone. dont worry too much about it yarh. take plenty of rest and if it gets any worst, see the doctor immediately. ask kim if you're going back for a revision what will he do. i think you need to know. you're the one whose going to live with that nose.

ahmeilover: did you do reduction with dr sukit? hows the scars like?

i'm thinking of doing it in thailand rather than in korea due to cost reasons as well as the fact that if i do need a revision, going to thailand will be more practical and all.

thanks for the info here everyone. it's really good. btw, besides dr sukit, are there any other rather prominent(in a good way of course!) drs at yanhee? do they provide you with sinnech? if they dont, where can we get in in singapore(without prescription) and how much is it? sorry for the flood of questions.
