Hihi.

Okie -field report - in a nutshell...
Day 1 (just yesterday) - went to the surgeon's office, wasn't really nervous..heck, paid 50% (non refundable) downpayment, might as well get on with it! :? (Gartheven - pricing was pretty reasonable, on the lower side for Spore surgeons - S$3300 all inclusive)

Went alone cos I didn't tell anyone about my decision....was there at 10am; the nurse explained the various medication (sineech, bromelain tablets, antibiotics, antiseptic cream for the nostril, pain killers (if necessary)) - took the pre-ops sineech, changed to the hospital gown and waited...she took my blood pressure and inserted a needle into my arm vein for the sedative (that was the most painful bit!)...Dr came in chatted a couple of minutes (forgot to mention that I wanted a higher bridge...darn...but I still have my plastic splint on, so I can't tell how high the final product is yet :-| )...I did ask for a more defined tip though, which I think i got :) ....after that everything was a daze... remembered the chatter, bright lights, stitching..but it was all over in a flash...(30 min actually)

Nurse aided me back to a recovery area, had on a cold eye pack and rested for about 1.5 hours...didn't feel any pain other than being abit woozy from the sedative. By about 12+, I was good to go, changed out of the hospital jammies and called a cab home. Didn't feel any different after that, I even went online to clear my office emails! :D

(note - folks who bought the Hisamitshu "fever pack" - think its advisable to get the cold eye pack from the clinic. I didn't cos I thought the fever pack works just as well, then realised that u cant put that on the eye...so no eye pack for me...no big deal, but my double eyelids are abit puffy (like when u cry too much!) :? Nothing used tea-bags can solve!

Day 2 - Had slight blood discharge from the nostril where the implant was inserted yesterday, but that's all gone today. The main discomfort is having the plastic mould on my nose, hopefully no pimples are popping underneath!! No swelling or bruising (yet)...suppose to appear today, but nothing so far! Will peel off the mound tomorrow morning before heading off to the Drs for follow up...if there's no bruising/swelling there too, then I am going shopping right after! Might as well, since the clinic is at Paragons.

I guess like all plastic surgeries, you need to go with a clear mind and know that you are doing it for yourself and not to gain acceptance/please your other half etc...I am pretty happy with my other features but had always wanted to get a rhinoplasty, albeit it was not till about a year ago that I really thought more about it. Anyway, I am happy I went ahead. No regrets and will do it again in a heartbeat. Just be sure that you don't get obsessed with an extreme makeover overhaul, and end up looking like a stranger even to loved ones (ala Dawn Yeo/Yang)...my transformation is pretty subtle (hopefully enough to make a difference, but not that anyone can pin-point the change).

hi blackcreamer thanks for the field report :) and ahmeilover hope ur nose is turning out fine! $3300 is reasonable; however can u shed more light on the procedures that u had? Is it only nose argumentation? or reduction too? And what are the materials used? silicon, cartilage or gore-tex? Personally i'm thinking doing refined tip, narrower and higher nose bridge, hence the request for details...

Actually for my view on cosmetic surgery, i feel that so long as long term health is not compromised, the transformation should be significant and obvious to those that know you before, and totally natural and attractive to those you know after the ops. but different strokes for different folks yah...

Hello All! I am going to Vida Medical for my nose at the end of this month! HOwever the surgeon that is going to operate on me is Dr. Seah Chee Seng instead of Dr. Harry Fok.

hi wenhwa,
wishing u the best for ur decision ...

you going to Vida Medical on black creamers recommendation? I 'm contemplating a higher and narrower bridge with refined tip yah and i'll find to find out more about which procedures ur going for and what's the price like? I once accompanied a friend to get bleopharoplasty done by Dr Seah. It's about $1500 and went well without a glitch. The results are noticeable but not the sock-u-in-the-eye type of change: he does have an emphasis on being natural.

Nope. Had my double eyelids done by him before about a year ago. I like him. Very professional and cares about his patient!

I did my nose at Bangkok Yanhee hospital by Dr sukit worathmong. A very nice n patient dr.. upon reaching the place... payment wise I pay by cash lo.. they accept credit cards too.. but coz of the rate u noe not good so i decide to pay by cash... in USD.. if u can.... pay by thai baht u can save abt $10+ coz i calculated ma.... in thai baht its abt 16k+++ its alot of $ as in very thick.. haha.. so i bring USD 450 lighter ma...

my consultation las not more den 15 mins... v fast de.. den go change go in op room.. lie down......... wait for dr......... (i waited quite long) i was v nervous till my pulse rate went so high.. haha... gan cheong ma... den dr came... chat wif u while he construct the silicon.... den aft tt nurse inj not even 1 sec u pass out.. dreaming den float here n there.... den awake le.... v blurred.. wif plaster on ur nose... den push to observe ward rest wif ice pack on ur face..... den once u alert can walk or wat.. den nurse explain med to u den can leave le....

My nose... day 1 still okie..... no difference jus got tt plaster on.... swelling cannot see yet but 2nd day machiam pig head lo.... dun b too depress when u see tt... till day 5 den my swelling got better...... but wif bruises under my eye lo... bf say i machiam kana punch by pple lydat.... i go out as usual... heck care... hehe.... day 4 u can take of plaster le...

when i travel bak on the 8th day... my bruising is almost gone.. got abit lo.. Like or ba ka lo... if pple ask u.. jus say u not euff slp lo.... got hei yan quan.. lol.... swelling is inside the nose.. not noticeable.. no worries.. only u can feel it only... :P

Amazing what one could do with that amount of money for educating oneself, but hopefully you feel better for the ordeal you wen tthrough.
