Just that some of the names mentioned are personal friends of mine and even though it is a sort of free advert for them but some may not like it, know what I mean?

But thanks for the info and clearing the blurred fine line though.

So, can get discount for me or not?

If so, shouldn't it be in the classified's section?

It is a thin line I reckon but please, 'powers that be' do enlighten me.

For if it is not advertising than I would like to post some in the other threads.

Cheers.
Well, the way I see it is that if the post is put up by someone representing the company directly the I would consider it advertising.

On the other hand, if it is just like the threads in the "Staying, Living" or Moving, Relocating to Singapore" threads where we ask other posters for their recommendations based on experience or hearsay, then that poster isn't in it for personal gain but to help another poster in the thread. Nobody has ever questioned it there. Why here? Now? Guess we should have posted this question long ago in the Staying, Living thread, yeah?

C'mon guys, give it a rest. Can or not!
Regarding the beauty hread here, I guess the eagerness to hear about plastic surgeons and the ability of the readers here to distinguish good advices from sleek advertising is quite different from expats looking for an appartment in the living in Singapore section.

Ah, of course my posting got 'edited' again, predictable but still quite annoying, as I am asked to give an answer now to SMS, but half my posting is gone, and it contained the info that would have explained why.

Censorship, jawohl... :?

Joop?

Anyway, I am sure that an expat looking for an appartment can divide the right information given by other expats with experience from the information given by agents who just wanna sell their services.

How?

As the owners of this site are property agents, they do make sure NO other agent will have access here to promote their services, very simple.

On the other end though, here in the beauty thread, there are quite a bunch of those who work in the plastic industry, either as an assistant, student, or even doctor. And sleek as they are, they hide their services in detailed information asked for.

And I dare saying the 'gals' here do not distinguish such from info given by other PS victims here.

For those aspiring for a higher nose, perhaps you can try out this new apparatus availabe from http://www.rakuten.co.jp/goodsman/513286/535848/

If I read the instruction correctly, 20 mins per day and twice a day can do the trick. I spoke to the "brain" (i.e. my husband) of the family and he neither approves nor disproves of it. The bone is after all a living tissue and who knows it may work. Afterall, people can still get their teeth adjusted. So there may be a tiny weeny bit of hope here. However, I would imagine the earlier the better since the bone is most pliable at the baby stage. I have seen babies' heads being flatter on one side, on the side where the baby customarily sleeps on.

Or you could just try a clothes peg. I hear it helps with bad smells as well.

Eric,

In that case, then quite possibly, I could be a Dell Employee as I have gone on at great lengths in the past to defend their service against popular opinion and value for money even to claiming that I use Dell exclusively at home (having 3 of them). Any unsuspecting newbie to the PC world might just go out and buy one because of my recommendations. Who knows, I may be getting a commission even. I think we're tilting at windmills again............. :?

Oh this is so hilarious had to giggle when i read this post! Cloth pegs for the nose?? Are you kidding me guys?? (bg) you guys can be so funny .... how about those wooden pegs? I wonder how some of you will look with it with a pair of pegs on your ears for a FULL look ! care for a longer ear lobe?

On a serious note, I believe the nose (as with all features) must be in HARMONY with the rest of the features on the face i.e. a high nose may look out of place and may in fact draw neccessary unwanted attention (as with most nose jobs!), which is a testiment of cosmetic surgery gone wrong!

I understand where you're coming from..and we do try to suss out the peddlars from the genuine PS seekers here. There would always be a distinct trait of a peddlar who would repeatedly comment on the same thing. We will then trail all their threads for such consistencies, in which we will decide to delete those sections of advertisements or to delete the post.

SMS has a sharp eye for that and I think he's done a great job in informing me of a few such cases around..

So if you feel there's someone going around peddling some services, then feel free to PM me with his/her nick and we'll get down to investigate.

Otherwise..I'd just leave the beauty section alone as I do feel most of them seem very genuine in their discussion..well from my point of view.

Cheers! :)
