On the swelling, it would also depend on how ur body reacts & the skill of the surgeon. I went for consultation with Dr Harry Fok, and he showed me before/after pix (3 days apart), most of the patients had just mild bruising (didn't really notice much swelling) under the eye, but there was even one patient he operated on last week who ended up with no swelling or bruising whatsoever....! (I assumed the pix are not photo-shopped...) :o
Patients go home without any plaster/splint, so I suppose alot depends on the skill of the PS. I ended up cancelling my surgery appnt with another PS & opted to get mine done with him instead.

Rabbit: I think you should give it time. At least 3 months. I know it is tough to be patient when you don't see the results now but hang in there and hopefully it be greatly imrpove.

lena, i dont know im having doubts..am now scouting for other docs..i think i might look into taiwan but im afraid of language barrier.. im also sending my pics for simulation but havent done it yet coz cant find my digi cam ehhe.. i already have sort of an idea of what kind of nose i want n im sending that pic to them as well so i'll have to see what it looks like first.. im also thinking of maybe jst going to the surgeon that my cousin had done her rhino but not sure if its more expensive coz i think she paid $2500 only for rhino and it was around 1999 so its probably more expensive now n i would still prefer asian doc coz well im asian ehhe..btw can u tell me which doc in japan u'r referring to? n if he has a website? how much more expensive is he?

i'm thinking of rhino with implants n eithr nostril or nose tip reduction or both hehe..but i dont really know what i really need..so still would like the pov of a doc..btw, when r u scheduled to go there? but it seems like mynose n hatemynose like their's n rabbit's probably still need time to heal..btw, im also planning on doing my eyelids hehe :D

Has anyone been to Dr. Hong? I just had ear surgery (deformity after accident) corrected. He did a good job. I looked through his files and he does nose, chin, etc.

Rabbit,

Read about your experience and depression after doing your nose. How has it been now?

I am very sure you did a lot of research and fact-finding before setting off to Korea for your "dream" nose, yet unable to accept the fact that it did not turn out as well as you thought will be. But then again, as many people who did their nose (or any surgery) will tell you, it's still early to tell the final result. Your round and hard nose tip i guess is due to the swell. After operation, the swell will be the worst for the first 3 days, thereafter it will start to subside slowly. After 1 month, the swell will still be there, but it's only obvious to the patient him/herself and the surgeon. Others can't really tell. It actually takes 3 months for the swell to subside more, and 6 months to tell the final result.

The fact is, plastic-surgery-wannabes can prepare themselves with tonnes and tonnes of information about the surgery they want to do, and also buy Sinecch to help reduce the swell and bruise. But one thing they can never really prepare is, to cope with depression after surgery. Nobody looks good immediately after any surgery; even something as simple as eyebrow embroidery makes the area around my eyebrows looks red and ugly. We always, always (and we can never change the fact) have to undergo the recovery stage, and that is the "killer". Before I did my nose, i am trying to find photos of people who took a picture of their nose 1, 2 or 3 days after surgery, to see how much swell it can be. I can't find any. Luckily i didn't swell as badly as some, and mentally and emotionally i can still handle it. Before i do my eyes this time round, i managed to find some photos and hell am i surprised how much swelling the eyes will be! It's so bad to the point, some can't even open their eyelids. That is when i already have mental preparation how i will look after the surgery. Just my guess, but i think you didn't expect your nose to swell this much hence you cannot really accept it, and result in depression.

Alot of our follow forumers in this thread only focus on seeing before and after photos, but failing to see the importance of needing to know how ugly it can be during the recovery period. It's just, before i am like this after i am like that. Full stop. I cannot stress more than enough, about the fact of being very mentally prepared on how bad you will look during the recovery stage. Nobody can tell you such info, except your surgeon and knowing how your own body works. If you tends to bruise and swell easily when bumped into something, most likely you will bruise and swell badly after surgery. But then again, the skill of the surgeon also makes a difference. In your case, since the korea doctor is a prestigious one, there should not be any doubt on the creditability of his skills. It's just about how your body react. We cannot compare in such a way that "why my nose swell till it looks like an onion yet her's is so much better?!". It's how your body react.

PATIENCE is an essence in all plastic surgery, and I urge you to wait for at least 6 months to see how is it going, before deciding to go for any corrections. Anyway, i doubt the surgeon will want to do corrections on you now, even if you insist. He had seen sooo many cases of gals who initially couldn't accept the look of the still-puffed-up nose, yet later love the look. You can be one of them too

As for the fact that you don't have time with the surgeon after your surgery is done, don't worry, you are not alone and it doesn't happens to you only. Happens to me as well :) Now let's say i am a plastic surgeon. I did a eye job on a gal, and she was scared stiff how swollen her eyes are. She wants to see me, so i told her it's normal, it's like this. But she is so paranoid and insist something is just not right as her friend didn't swell this much. I keep re-assuring her it's normal. I do 2 nose jobs 1 breast implant and 2 nose job a day. That means i have 5 patients. This figure keep accumulating everyday, yet my patients needs months for the swell to subside and see the final result. If all 80% of my current patients are paranoid, calls and insist to see me, i will do nothing all day long, except re-assuring them again and again, that it is normal. I won't have time to do other surgeries. And, just like any other employee, i need to earn money to feed my family, keep my Porsche and go for golfing trips to exotic locations with my mistresses (hee hee). Ok sorry i side-tracked abit. But the whole point is, the nurses had seen so much before, they know which one really needs attention and don't worry, if your's is really that bad, they will inform the surgeon. To protect himself, he will come to you, it won't be the other way round.

Wah, what a long post to start my sunday afternoon. I should be spending quality time with my doggie and family, instead of wasting my life on plastic-surgery-matters, as someone from this thread kindly "showed me the light".

/Jovin on a lazy afternoon, who is a disgrace to humanity because I am wasting my life on plastic surgery matters and another person is wasting his/her life reading this post about plastic surgery when he/she strongly oppose to it. Hey, just a suggestion. Why not write to the government and ask them to ban plastic surgeons in Singapore? Don't you think it's just so inhuman for them to operate on vain-and-brainless gals who thinks that plastic surgery is going to change the quality of their life?

SinEcch REALLY cuts the downtime of swelling. I had ear surgery twice, the first time without SinEcch (swelling, pain lasted 3 mnonths) and the second time with Sinecch and it lasted only 2 weeks!
