Hello All!! I wanna tell you guys about my VERY, EXTREMELY UNHAPPY experience in NUH!!

I had my jaw done by a doctor from NUH, however, after the swelling had subsided, I realised the initial problems that I told the doctor has not been solved yet. And so, I went to see him today.

When I saw him, he asked what was it I wasn't satisfied. After he asked, he took a picture and from the picture, he agreed that the problem was indeed there. So he told me that he could actually do more to solve the problem. He then gave me a slip of paper and told me to pass it to a nurse for quotation. I am like, "hey isn't this retification?!?!". and he told me it is hospital procedure.

I went to the nurse & was informed that the surgery would be about another 3400 more, furthermore, she explained the breakdown of the charges, which included a 1800 professional fee and 200 anesthetist fee. I explained to her that it was a rectification work and she told me that I could actually talk to the doctor and ask him for a waiver, even if its not the whole bill, a t least his professional fee can be waivered.

I went back up and the doctor's already gone. I asked the nurse to call him and ask him about the waiver. 5 mins later I got a call and was appalled when she said that the doctor told her," why should I waive my professional fees when he thinks that the bill is too high!"

I AM SO ANGRY!! The reason why I went back to him is because he is the doctor whom did my surgery. And even when he agree that he didn't deliver the results, he still want another surgical fee to correct it!!! WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!?!

Based on my experience, guys, you have to think twice otherwise you might end up with my predicament!

Wenha that is ridiculous! I think the doc should waiver his fees at least! Who is this doctor, Dr. Lim? Was there any improvement at all since the surgery? Your doctor should be a reputable one if he works at NUH, right? Did you see any before and after pics at your consultation so you can judge his work? If he refuses to waiver his fees then better to get another opinion from a different surgeon. Is there any way you can directly talk with the doc? keep us updated!

Ya .. the head lor .. I wanna talk to him again on Monday. I mean .. I am NOT asking you to do something EXTRA, but the ORIGINAL problem, which was why I wanted the surgery in the first place. So now, for another surgery, you want me to pay the ANOTHER amount for surgery again. if its so, .. I think he "win already lor". So technically, he could have done a surgery, not to his best, wait for them to come back to discuss the badly done surgery and CHARGE AGAIN for the next one.

Furthermore, EVERY CONSULTATION WOULD BE CHARGED!!! Please people, listen to my advise, think twice before heading to NUH. I went for 2 consultations with the 2 different doctors that done my face , that I would pay, cause its consultation. But after my surgery, the reviews that I would require is STILL CHARGABLE!! OMG, I paid almost 300 bucks in all for consultation and review, and wasted another 250 bucks on a procedure which the doctor recommended before doing my rhinoplasty that involves putting a nosescope in my nose. And that's only for about 10 seconds!!!

I really REGRETED NOT GOING TO A PRIVATE, FAMOUS SURGEON. The amount I paid really could got me to a private surgeon. Based on my experience with private surgeons, they don't charge you for reviewS!

Hi Sadgirl,

I remember seeing a post in previous page on double eyelid revision and that girl was very happy with the revision result. The doc, if I remember correctly, is Dr. Sukit in Bangkok. But pls. take sometime to check out the post yourself and contact the girl to find out more.

Sorry, couldn't help much, but at least, you know there's someone out there shares the same experience as you. Good luck!

Rdgs,
Rabbit

I had a rhinoplasty about a year ago in Japan at Otsuka (http://www.otsuka-biyo.co.jp) quite satisfied with the result :) I'm planning to have a double eyelid surgery and cheek lipo in South Korea (my first choice is http://www.bk.clinic.co.kr/) probably in mid year. Anyone interested to go there together? :D or have any suggestion for better clinic?
ps: For those of u going to have surgery, i really recommend you to get SinEcch from this website (http://www.alpinepharm.com) Some singapore surgeons have them but only sell them to their patients, so must order online. But this Sinecch really helped me a lot, reduced the swelling and pain. My doc in Japan was even surprised coz my swelling was very minimal after the surgery :)

How much does it cost for the double eyelid surgery? (Briefly)?
And between what method do they use? Because I checked with some surgeons, they do by the new "clipping" method introduced by the Japanese.

Have anyone got their double eyelids by the "clipping method"?
Doctor Woffles Wu uses the clipping method too right?

This is regarding rhinoplasty. oh and nearly all rhinoplasty surgeons will specialise in double eyelids as well. I know Dr Sukit and Dr Kim do.

-------

After hearing some of the horror stories from this forum, i personally feel its not worth the risk going to a ps in SG unless its leslie kuek / woffles wu or martin huang. But they are the absolute most famous ps in sg so be prepared to fork out over 10k for the rhinoplasty.

I actually recommend going overseas because its much cheaper and the surgeons have more expereince - due to the low demand of ps in sg because going for ps here is still not as accepted as compared to other s.e.a countries. Dawn Yang got flamed to death in some circles for doing nothing but wanting to improve her own looks. I dont get it, poor girl!

So for simple implant i suggest going to YanHee --> Dr Sukit, quite a number of people on this forum have went there and are happy with the results, go search for their posts. Cost for simple implant = 450 USD. PS is also popular in thailand, so for him, doing implant is like tying his shoelaces. It takes just 15mins and he does about 20 nose jobs a day.

If your budget is higher and you like the way taiwan noses look, you can go to taiwan --> Dr Jiang / Dr Chiang / Dr Hsu. look for all the posts by jovin aka the godmother of this forum lol. her nose looks very natural and she has patiently posted alot of information requested by people, repeatedly.

If you wanna do a big op, for example nostril reduction + nasal tip reduction + implant, i suggest going to Korea -> Bk Clinic Dr Kim. He is very skillful but very busy. Two of us from this forum have gone to him and are happy with his result. This might be quite expensive however, and the op alone will cost 3-3.5k USD. After plan tickets/food/hotel cost will be about 7kSGD.

So far all the ps i have seen from this forum were all very natural. Its impossible to tell their nose was operated on - and i think this is the part most people wanting to go for ps fear. Let me just say, if u go for any of the ps above, you have absoulutely nothing to worry about.

And, because we look different now, people do notice and say we look different. But the great thing is, the nose job is so natural that they cant tell what happen, they say we look different, but dunno which part or what we did.

Personally I dont' trust singaporean plastic surgeons.. I'm not saying that they are not good/skillful enough but ps are not very common here so they don't have lots of experiences. Each person require different needs, eg. how much to reduce the nostrils, how big the eyelids, etc and only those surgeons with lots of experiences will now which/what would suit the patients.
As for Dawn yang transformation I agree that she looks much2x better compared to her before look.. but ppl can tell by looking at her pic that her face was operated cause it doesn't look natural (compare her to Lee Hyolee or Boa they both had something done to their face but still looking very natural) What I notice about dawn's face is her upper lips reduction looks very unnatural, the doc shaved too much from her upper lips so in some expressions she looks like an old lady :( and her nosetip looks unnatural (small and pointed triangle like at the end).. anyway this's just my personal opinion.. some of you might think differently :D
