Dear giraffe and all

Yes, I was very traumatised by what Irenea said about Dr Huang, especially when I looked at my eyes and they are so swollen now :( To tell you the truth, I was scared stiff....

I went to his clinic this morning and told him that I wanted to reverse the procedure. Dr Huang was very patient and said if I really want to do that, he can do it for me but that would be a pity. He advised that I should just wait it out. Swelling after surgery is a definite and different people recover at different rates.

After I left his clinic, I went to see another doctor - Dr Fong Poh Imm, whom I heard is a very experienced plastic surgeon who does many double eyelids. He told me that my swelling is very normal, that my eyes look swollen and puffy now because of the swell. He also said that I need to wait more - 2 1/2 weeks is too short to achieve a natural look.

I have been very affected by what Irenea wrote. Her post really scared the wits out of me. Here I am - a patient who is trying her very best to recover from surgery and there she is - writing all those posts about the surgeon who did the surgery on me :(

I shared this with my hubby and he said that I was stupid to get affected by all these unsubstantiated internet posts.
Hence, I have decided that I will not visit this forum anymore. It's scary - you don't know who is who, and who is telling the truth, and who is not.
Maybe, when I recover fully, I'll drop a note to say that I'm ok.
Meanwhile, take care, everyone.

I am sorry you are going to be away. It is mostly swelling I reckon and you should give it more time before you decide to worry about it. Since both docs have said I hope this gives you some calm. This is a support forum and I think you should still come and keep relating your experience. Your experience will help many here. Irenea had a bad experience with her doc and she is giving her account of what happened. Does not mean you will get the same experinece even from the same doc.

I hope you come back and post. Hope your swelling susides soon. Are you sleeping with your head elevated? Take care

I, Airene Chen Shi Yun, would like to apologize to Dr Martin Huang of Pacific Healthcare Holdings Ltd for those defamatory statements which I had posted on Singapore Expat Forum website.

I hereby admit my foolish and irresponsible act and sincerely apologize to Dr Martin Huang for those baseless and untrue statements.

I can't agree more with astar. A person that tell lie once, is not worth trusting anymore. Guess we all know what is "lang lai liao".

Irena, we are all like minded person here that are serious in look for info and real experience sharing. If your many recent posts are not real, can I request you to leave this form? It's really getting irritating. We are saving penny by penny for a once in a life time surgery, can you don't make fun out of it? Don't you see how bad JS2 feel now? You treat it as a form of entertainment? I really wonder if you are a normal person...

But anyway, if you continue posting, I guess most of us will just ignore them. It did no harm to us except have to scroll and look for the in between post.

Hi Dolphin (posted on pg 85)

Sorry for not reponded to your question. Regarding silicon implant, since I'm still doing research and I'm just an ordinary patient wanting an nose job, I also don't want to share wrong info that scar pple. Below is what I read from web-sites.

All I can say is, more and more doc is putting I shape implant and use autologous cartilage for the tip cos it seems some L shape implant if not fit in nicely, there may be chance of complication occur, say the nose tip get thinner and in some case, if the patient ignore it long enough, the nose tip got contracted and the implant extrude out.

But at the same time, I also read somewhere that some one had L shape implant for many many year and there's nothing happen. If I'm not wrong, it's one of the post posted very early in this forum... a daughter wanted to do rhinoplasty in Yanhee as her mother did it many years ago and seems fine.

Sorry, that's all I know from all my web surfing. Suggest you check more on this aspect. Pls. do share with us if you get to know anything useful! Thx! :)

Hello all!! Actually after seeing the comments, I don't really know who to go to!! Martin Huang or Woffles Wu! Irnea made MH sound so scary! I am now seriously considering if I should see him .. but then the names of the doctors from Cosmetic Specialist Centre keep on poping up .. it made me think .. are they really good? Why the sudden repeated mention of their names? Could anyone that had been there talk to me about their experience? And hey all! perhaps we could arrange a forum outing! haha! :???:

oh, and anybody thinking of going taiwan for nose job??

Hi astar, may I know when are you going to Taiwan? I've called & email my photo to Dr Chang at Taipei, Nanjing road in the past 3 weeks. He is prompt in email reply.
I wanted to hve alar reduction & height increase, planning to go some time this year.
He quoted me with 2 choices, if I choose without cutting my ear for height & alar reduction is NT $75k. The next choice is using cartilage bone(cut form ear) for nose tip extension will cost double.

Well, I like to hve people to go alone, so can hve cost saving in hotel & take care of each other during the recovery period  My research, good hotel in Taipei is quite expensive. Range from S$160 to S$200 plus per nite.
You may chk on his website:

Btw I learnt about Dr chang when browsing this forum few months ago, hve oso chk on Jovin's sharing on Dr Hse & Dr Chiang, their website:

Glad to hear from you.

Hi Irena,

Sorry if my post hurt you. I did also read all your post and there are contradicting things like in your post around pg 45, you said "10 yrs ago, your secondary schoolmate already put double eyelid sticker", also there is post like "your profession deals with the beauty industry (sorry can't recall the exact wordings)" and in recent post, you say you are 19, still a student, I'm really confused. That's why I wrote such nasty post...

If you read all my post, I also had a not satisfy surgery, though it's not a big deal, just not much improvement, but I kind of know the angry of after paying $ still can't realize my dream, cry also no tear...

Just to clarify, I'm all alone in this post, so there's no "my friend" or "my gang". I'm just seeking info and sharing what I know here.

Good luck to your recovery or revision if you intend to do so.

Dear Rabbit,

Thank you for your reply!! :D

All those strange "silicone contraction" pictures at Dr Jung's site really scared me, that's why I asked.

From my research, it seems that if you insert just a silicone implant alone, scar tissue will form around the implant as it heals ( body's natural reaction to foreign object ) and can add like 2-3mm to your nose width depending on your body's ability to form scars ( eeks )

However, if you use cartilage as a buffer, the body recognizes it as its own and won't be in a hurry to form scar tissue around it. You are also less likely to develop complications.

but it means the cartilage has to come from somewhere and be carved into shape...Was thinking if he's gonna take it from my ears, would that leave my ears looking funny? haha
