Hi, I am thinking of a revision rhinoplasty with rib cartilage. There seems to be a lot of good comments on Dr. Jung Dong-Hak from Korea and Dr. Hsu from Taiwan.

Anyone has done a revision rhinoplasty (esp. with rib cartilage) with either Dr. Jung or Dr. Hsu? Was it good? How much did they charge?

rhinoplasty

Post by onlyakiss » Sat, 16 Jan 2010 8:46 pm

I just had rhinoplasty - nasal implant + tipoplasty, with a Dr Tong who works through Cosmedic Jetaways. I love my new nose! (sorry no piccies 'cos I'm shy). I know he's not as well-known as the others mentioned on this forum, but he is very senior in his hospital and popular with the Thais as well. He told me that putting a nasal implant alone would not be aesthetically complete in my case, cos higher bridge + no tip (I hardly had a tip) = strange. I was reluctant at first cause I was worried about swelling, but it actually went down faster than I thought. He also said to be careful, some surgeons will insist on doing implant only (previously I had sent photos to another surgeon, he insisted on implant only) cause implant only is easier money to make, and by adding tipoplasty. the surgeon doesn't raise the price by much, but tipo is a tricky, TRICKY thing to do.
I was also told that he is one of the only surgeons in Thailand who does breast implants through an armpit incison - no obvious scarring in the long-term, but takes a lot longer to do than normal under the boobs incision. He actually pioneered the technique.
Also Cosmedic Jetaways took care of me very well, sweet reps there - Dani who's an Englishman and a local girl Nang.

Oh, and I also agree with previous comments about fillers. I had it done on my nose before and it looked strange - squishy, and there were dents in places. For the amount you pay for a temporary non-fix, you should maybe consider a real nose/boob job. It's just that the effects of a nose filler = hardly there, it's NEVER as pronounced an effect as they show on the websites.

Heard he is also very good with eyes. You can try emailling him about your condition.
hi, thank you but is there any other choices? because i did consult with him before i wasn't entirely comfortable with him and the reviews of his clinic was both good or bad - i was worry that his clinic is too busy and that he will do a rush job....

Dr. Kim is just....too commercialised. The descriptions of those who went to him sound like a factory production line.

Don't expect a personal experience and close patient doctor relationship, and followup might not be good, he's the super busy type of doctor.

He's definitely known for eyelids but I'd be cautious about the rest.
