Walmart In China

Much needed in that part of the world. That corner-cutting culture

The company stresses that efficiency and good management make every day low prices possible, not cutting corners.

There is a book called, "The Box", which chronicles the rise of the containerized shipping industry and the revolution it created.

80 percent of all container shipments these days are all intermediate goods, not the finished product. So cheap has shipping become that your scenario is commonplace these days.

"Made In America" is preferred over "Made In China" (and Taiwan ) by most mainland Chinese and Taiwanese. It is a great selling point for American companies.

I understand Walmart has some controversial practices. But overall, it will have a positive effect for China. It is the lesser of two evils. I mean, one we got to pick our battles. It helps to change mindsets by meeting and setting consumer expectations for quality and product safety.
