Job Application help!

Post by Lostsoul » Mon, 04 Sep 2017 10:18 am

Just seeking advice from people who have greater work experience than myself.

I am in my early 30s, holding on to an Assistant Director position in a govt-linked "private" entity. I have been wanting to move out to the private sector. I am a graduate with one of our local universities.

Recently, I landed interviews with a large MNC as a mid-senior level management role after an approach by a headhunter. The interview process went well (or so I think at that time). There was a total of 3 rounds of interview and I completed all of them.

It had been slightly over a week since my last interview. The headhunter came back to me and said the hiring process is still on-going and my application is KIV-ed and it is definitely not a no, if it was a "No", they would have informed me immediately.

What am I to suss out from this?

To me, being placed on KIV would mean I am good but not good enough for them to hire unless they are have urgent needs.

Do I move on and consider other opportunities? Or do I continue to hold on and hope for the best?

Still too soon. MNC's take 6 months to close positions out IME.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Welcome to Singapore?

I never had a 6 months wait but 2 to 3 months is expected for the various paperwork to push through.

If it is extremely urgent, expect 1 month.

So hurry up and wait!

In my last post I didn't say passes did I?

The internal processes and approvals can go on for so long.

Maybe hiring has been temporarily frozen with Budget cut? Or another position has taken priority for hiring?

I have taken 5 months to fill 4 positions...it's been a struggle to find the right candidate within the Budget we can afford

Hello everyone!

I would like to get advice from expats who already got a job offer after the interview. I am waiting for the response 52 days after Skype interview. Last week the HR manager told me they are still reviewing candidates. Is it normal for the hiring process in Singapore?

P.S.I am trying to keep positive, but waiting time is killing me. It is never easy to wait so long. )
