When I returned back to SG after my PR was revoked, I had to apply for an EP. After holding the EP for 1yr+, I re-apply for PR and now holding a PR. Yes - I am a M'sian Chinese. I am not stating you can get back your PR or release your PR as and when you like. It is ICA discretion.

Malaysian Chinese is the top preferred race for PR/SC. The OP may be of the least preferred race who got his PR at the time many people got their PRs and this time is long gone. What if he gets encouraged by, let me quote "I was in the same situation as you" and let his REP gets expired hoping he can get it back in few months? He may never get it back.

I do like these stories which essentially negate any reasoning behind PR , wonder if this will be picked up by some local forum crawler and highlighted :mrgreen:
