EP (Employment Pass) processing time delay

Post by 123mikewilliam » Tue, 22 Aug 2017 3:52 pm

Hi There,

I have recently got an offer from one of the big Aerospace MNCs and they filed my EP application with MOM on 11 Aug 2017 and it still shows pending.
My background as follows,
1) Masters degree graduate from NTU in Mechanical Engineering
2) Having more than 6 years experience in Aerospace related industry
3) Served service obligation for 3 years
4) Offered pay is more than 5K
My last EP renewal with my previous employer took only 3 working days to get approved.
Is there anyone here with similar case/experience like me? Its been 7 working days since the day of application. I am worried that it will cause delays in joining date and the notice period.
Please advise if you had gone through similar experience recently.
Thank you.
Regards.

There are similar cases where for some it has taken 2-10 days and for some it has taken upto 6 months. So now what can you conclude? All you can do is to wait.

No worries. If you're first time applicant . It took longer time to access your profile. However I've read through your profile . Based on my experienced
You definitely eligible for EP. Just a matter of time.

as you mentioned your application date 11th August, you posted 22 August still pending. then posted 23 August got approved but you said 6 days only. Can you give me the detail. I am also waiting for EPass approval since 18th August.

Are you working directly for a company or are you going to work for a body shop who will rent you out to other companies?

Mine was filed last Aug. 22, 2017 and still pending approval.

This will be the first time for me to work overseas and I'm already on my 30s.
I only finished my Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and with 12 years work experience.
And I was offered only around 5k sgd for a Senior Network Engineer role. I am thinking that the offered salary is disproportionate with my years of experience.

When I tried the Self-Assessment Tool, it says I am only qualified for S-Pass.

I am afraid they may reject my work pass application because my qualifications might be disproportionate with the role/salary offer. :(

Honesty, why are you so worried for a 7 day delay ?

If it takes more than 3 weeks, then worry a bit, though worrying won't speed up the processing.

I think I already regret sharing thoughts here.

That was me sharing where i am at with my application and my thoughts about it.

I am fully aware that worrying will not help me in any way.

Anyway, thank you still for sharing your thoughts.

Maybe your country of origin played a big part for the quick approval.

Where do you hail from? :)

I think it's safe to say, probably originally from India but might be via another country.

How long is a piece of string? It will take as long as it takes. Usually from 3 days to 3 months. Welcome to Singapore.
