LTVP

Post by abcx12 » Sun, 06 Aug 2017 6:02 pm

I am currently on EP and applied for LTVP for my parents. ...i understand that the MOM's eligibility criteria for applying for LTVP for parents is minimum fixed salary of 10k.....my salary is exactly 10k....however, my LTVP application got rejected...i am wondering that why this could be rejected since i meet the eligibility requirements...has some one else also faced same issue?

It's only the eligibility requirements to apply. It's not a guarantee of getting it. It's just like an EP or S pass, having the minimum qualifications doesn't necessarily mean you will be successful in obtaining said pass either.

We don't know the inner workings of MOM but can only hazard a guess and your past playing with visas may have had some negative impact on your ability to secure an LTVP. I also don't think ICA looks too kindly on bringing in aged parents as it seems that they are being used as a type of maid without having to pay levies or salaries to them. Singapore doesn't make any money that way.

Did you write any explanation for why you want your parents here (e.g. To help look after grandchildren to support both productive working parents)?

My Mother was approved last year. We indicated she will support us, in addition, my Brother is also PR here to help look after her financially.
