Passport Validity for new EP

Post by prakashm87 » Mon, 26 Jun 2017 12:55 am

Hello,
I have been working in Singapore for past 15 months.
I am planing to switch my job now.
My passport will be expiring in mid July 2018 i.e. next year
Should i get my passport renewed before requesting my new employer to sponsor my EP or is it ok to apply using my existing passport?
Will the new EP have a less than 1 year validity because my passport will expire in a year?
Does anyone has any experience with this situation?

Regards,

Regards,
You will get a 1 year or 2 year pass, just need to ensure that your passport is valid for 6 months at the time of pass issuance.

Expiry of passport never influenced how long the pass validity is.

I got a 1 yr EP that expires on the day that my passport expires.

That's what the MOM told my employer when they enquired.

Whether thats true or not I dunno , but I have no reason to doubt my employer.

I have gotten 2 year EPs with 7 or 8 months or so remaining on my passport :) can recall 3 times, as my passport runs out of pages quite fast.
