I had heard rumours from well connected Singapore friends that the family was falling apart over inheritance issues.... seems to be true?
Never appoint joint executors. I'm surprised LKY made that mistake.
The allegations about abuse of power and misuse of state organs are pretty serious though. I wonder if he will actually be permitted to leave Singapore after this article?

Well, at the risk of being accused of stirring up stuff, I doubt LHY can firmly say he never made mistakes. As head of the Telco, rumour 15 years ago was rife - that he headed massive investment in a technology that died quickly - cost written off ! Nobody blinked because the money down the black hole was approved by Boss ! As I said, it was rumours but that Singtel quitely wrote of that specific technology without explaining is proof that it was a pretty bad decision !!

I am not sure if it is all about the money for the two siblings. Lee Wei Ling is a passionate woman who wears her heart on her sleeve. So much so that it can work against her. She wishes to continue living in the house for sentimental reason. As indicated below, she has the intention to donate her part of the inheritance to charity, much to the chagrin of her father, the late LKY. LKY preferred it to eventually flow thru to his grandkids. After Wei Ling’s time. A very traditional Chinese notion. To want to care and provide for your later generations.

I understand that all SG sites are heavily monitored/ censored. Will they be able to exit the country easily? Where they can sound off their concerns, uncensored. For their sake, it is best that we keep them in the pubic eye. Just saying.

I doubt the siblings are gonna incarcerated like NKor. I guess Elder Lee is in a tight spot, between playing for the gallery/public/folks with strong emotional attachment vs fulfilling is father's wish.
Hence the threat to gazette the house and push the problem to a committee !!
Not a tough place to be - tell the committee to get lost, problem solved.

Thanks now I understand.
LKY didn't want the house to become a public monument and demolishing it releases the value to his heirs.
LWL and LHY want the house demolished to release the value for charity / whatever as per their father's wishes (which he stated by the ways openly to the press - not just in the will).
LHL wants the house as political capital to continue the Dynasty (and possibly to take money from LWL/LHY) and now he is alleging the last will is 'dubious' and is challenging it.
Did I miss anything? Oh yeah LHL's kid supposedly does not want to enter politics.

Having been away for a few weeks (and hating NTUC Fairprice on my return - God I hope Aldi come in and blow their model away) I am a bit shocked at how on board with LHL Singaporeans are. He really is doing a good job of controlling the message.

It is true that this has become tabloid-ish . But what other options are available to her? Play it clean and take it to court? What are the siblings' chances of success? Just look at the precedences. And anyway, who was the one that started this game of playing dirty? No other Singaporean (and foreigner?) can make her kind of allegations without repercussion. So 3rd world ! Maybe they will use their position in life to move the nation forward?
The leeder's sons work for Google and Dropbox in USA. Maybe they will have some appreciation of the finer points of a 1st world culture.

No, they had no other option. It seems they tried a lot of things behind the scenes but ultimately went to the court of public opinion on Facebook.
What does irk me (and your FB post middleground shows this) is;
1. The possible abuse of power by the PM and PMO and his wife and what that really means (i.e. the PAP and gahmen cannot be trusted to be corruption free).
2. The 50 cent posters and others trying to shut this down because it's a 'tabloid or personal matter'. No it's not; not when it involves high level corruption.
