Second-gen PR Completed NS, currently student, chance of SC outcome?

Post by rick168 » Sat, 27 May 2017 11:57 am

As titled, I'm a second generation PR, just completed my national service on 2016. (ORD LO)
I'm currently a student in a local University, which means I will have 0 income for the next 4 years.

Recently I want to try to apply for Singapore Citizenship, but I realised the online application form required me to fill up my income and employment details.. (which are NIL to me)

My question here is, if I applied for SC online and filled up 0 and NIL for all the income and employment portion, is there still a chance for successful application?

Regards,
Rick

usually if they want you, they'll send you an invitation after NS.

anecdotally, the use of this method has been in decline.

i don't think anyone can say for certain what your chances are, but many have mentioned you stand 0 chance without applying.

how long have you lived and studied in singapore prior to NS? parents are also still here in SG?

what's your nationality?

thank you for ur reply. As far as I know, they alrdy ceased giving invitation. (previously, PR gets invite during their NS) To answer ur question, I have been studying in Singapore since 10 years old, studied locally for my A levels. My parents are PR as well but they are don't stay in Singapore currently. Im a Taiwanese PR btw :)

You have a high chance but I'd also say your home country is also a fantastic place to go back to unlike India.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

actually, in the past some PR invitations were sent out even before the student reaches upper secondary school.

i have had a few taiwanese friends (mostly foreign students, parents did not live in SG) who got their letters really early.

i don't think anyone can say for sure why you weren't invited. give it a go. what's the worse that can happen?

good luck!

it's a great place but wages are quite low at the moment, so... it may not be ideal for someone new to the job market.
