Employment Pass Appeal

Post by ralauw » Thu, 25 May 2017 11:56 am

Hi guys,

I'm Indonesian and I've got job offer from a company in Singapore for a digital marketing specialist (bahasa / Indonesia region). They need someone who has experience in digital marketing to handle Indonesia market. I already work in Indonesia for 3,5 years as digital media planner and digital media manager.

I already signed the contract more or less 2 weeks ago and already submitted resignation letter to my current company in the meantime. Right after contract was signed, they applied EP for me. They told me to have no worries that they will manage it all.

Apparently, few days ago I was checked my EP status by online and found that mine was rejected. I've contacted the HR person and she said that she knew that. She also said that 1 week ago she did appeal. She said it was due to salary issue and she has increased my salary. Not sure what kind of issue. Is it because not match with my skills or why. EP appeal takes 3 weeks. It means I still have to wait 2 weeks to get the result.

Frankly, I'm pretty worry now. I believe that they will do the best. But since this is my first experience on this matter, is there anyone knows :
- How big the chance to get appeal succeed?
- If it was rejected again, is there any other way to still work in that company?
- Do you have / hear any experiences like me?

Thanks!

Chance for success ? Low

Why ? Because I know enough local chinese fluent in Bahasa, who are handing Indonesia market.

If rejected again, no other way to work in that company, in Singapore

Enough experiences, read up this forum ..
