Help!! Apply EP & SPass/WP at the same time

Hello!

I've just signed an offer letter & my employer started applying EP for me. Although I have a degree from Malaysia, but my salary is below 3k. I have concern that my EP will not be approved. However, my employer assure me that it will not be a problem, as he had successful cases before. If it's rejected, he will not apply for S Pass.

I'm really worried so I started to find other jobs as well. If I'm being offered SPass/WP position(which has better success rate for my case), can I accept the offer while my EP is being processed? Or should i inform the employer to cancel my EP first? Will there be any penalty for me?
What is the best action I can take at this moment? Please help me in this...

You will not get the employment pass.
Below is from MOM website
From 1 January 2017, new EP applicants will have to earn a fixed monthly salary of $3,600 or more, depending on their qualifications and experience.
If they don't apply for an spass for you you will not get the job.

also, did you give this "company" any money up front to apply for the pass?

No. I didnt give money to apply for the pass. Employer not willing to pay for levy thus 'try' for EP. Since I am bound to be rejected anyway, would it be better for me to 'wait' for EP status before accepting new offer? I'd prefer to secure a job with the right pass asap tho rather than waiting for the impossible....[/quote]

Drop all contact with the company ASAP. You are not going to get an EP and they said they will not apply for an s-pass for you. Say everything DOES work out and you somehow end up in Singapore working for them. How do you think they will treat you?
Forget them, forget that job and move on. Best of luck in your search.

That's a great advice. However, do I need to ask them to withdraw EP application before applying for new Spass （if i manage to get a new job soon）?

One reason that nobody has replied is that there have been several posts made to this board that Malaysians have been approved for EP even though they don't meet the salary criteria.

I am assuming that because you said you have a degree from Malaysia that you are Malaysian. If that is the case, don't be so quick to blow off your potential employer. They might be right.
