NS policy

Post by Scared-Stiff » Wed, 26 Apr 2017 1:02 pm

I am a SPR and my wife and 2 year old son are PRs sponsored by me.

It is my intention to leave SG and return to my home country. We therefore intend to renounce our PRs.

However at present the timeline for doing this is around 2 years as the arrangements would appear to take that amount of time. I am trying to accelerate the process though.

My son would be 4 or 5 years old by then. I understand that at this age, based on the current policies, the NS liability would normally be waived.

However I would like to know is there a likelihood of the policy being changed, and if so, would sufficient warning be given?

It's unlikely any warning would be given but I also consider it unlikely a major change will occur unless the DPRK declares war on Singapore.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!
