Student visa refused but job offer recieved

Post by Mathew66 » Mon, 17 Apr 2017 2:06 pm

Dear all,

I have recently moved to Singapore to join my partner here. Having intensively looked for jobs here for the last month I managed to get a few interviews and an actual job offer.

but now comes the difficult part of getting my EP pass accepted...

In parallel to my job search I applied to a study program (4 months duration) as a backup plan in case I didn't find anything to be able to stay here for a bit longer than my STVP allows. Unfortunately that visa was refused so I appealed. The appeal is still pending and the company that offered me a job would now like to apply for the EP pass.

I checked a few of the threads on this forum but I have so far only found topics regarding 2 employment passes and not a student pass.

Should I also ask the university to withdraw my student pass application appeal and just apply for the EP pass? Is that the safest option?

If possible I would like to avoid canceling my appeal for the student visa in case my EP is refused (which sounds pretty common) so I would maybe still have a backup plan. But I understand this could be confusing for the MOM and I need to prioritise the EP pass.

Thanks for your advice and suggestions!

withdraw the Student pass appeal and ask your employer to apply for EP
