You can certainly do this, BUT: You must determine if your new Singapore unit uses "city gas", ie, natural gas, or whether it uses bottled gas, Ie, propane.cheerlin73 wrote:I'm moving from China to Singapore in 2 months' time, can I bring my own gas stove into Singapore as the current unit I rent the hob is very old and landlord allows me to change myself. Kind advise needed. thanks.
You can verify that your Singapore unit is natural gas (Singapore calls it "city gas") by verifying that there is a gas meter associated with your unit. Singapore, unlike a lot of other places, uses a low pressure gas distribution system, so your gas meter will be quite small.cheerlin73 wrote:thanks you so much Strong Eagle for your great advise!
My gas hob is natural gas in China is natural gas and the unit in Singapore is also natural gas I think, I didn't see any bottled gas. So means I should be able to bring it over to Sg.
Natural gas stoves don't have tanks, only propane. He said his is natural gas.rajagainstthemachine wrote:you cannot bring the gas cylinder on a plane![]()
just the hob..
and btw the cylinder is available in Singapore and it costs 30$ I think..
Hi Eagle, yes my company is providing a 20" container for me to ship my stuffs to Singapore, that why I am concerned whether will the be import restriction on gas stove.Strong Eagle wrote:Natural gas stoves don't have tanks, only propane. But, you do bring up a valid point. Unless someone else is paying for shipping, it will be expensive to ship that hob to Singapore.
In Google Translate, that translates to "natural gas". Natural gas is almost 100 percent methane gas anywhere in the world, including Singapore. In Singapore, Singapore Power supplies gas and electricity, sometimes through retailers. You should contact them with your unit number to confirm what is there. https://www.spgroup.com.sg/homecheerlin73 wrote:can someone be kind enough to tell me City Gas in Sg is using 天然气 which that's how China named for pipelined gas?
