30 day SVP with handwritten 7?

Post by darez » Tue, 04 Apr 2017 9:41 pm

Today I went to JB with friends and came back on the same day. I had been staying in SG for 25 days on social visit pass that I got thru Changi. When I arrived back from JB the SG officer asked me a few questions and I showed my onwards airline ticket for 7 days later. He then stamped on my passport the usual 30-day SVP but handwrote 7 on that stamp.

So was I given 30 days' pass or 7? I didn't see him enter in my flight details into his comp. Wanted to be sure I don't overstay!

He wrote 7 day because your ticket was 7 days away.

Now option 1: leave as per original plan

Option 2: stay longer than 7 days and still be legal, but raise red flags with ICA, as when you came you had a 7 day ticket but stayed longer. Unless you had a valid reason to stay longer, you can see yourself on the watch list.

They don't need to verify your ticket or key in their system, everything is monitored.

PS. Are you a male or female ?

Male 20s.

Yikes, didn't realize it's that serious! Don't wanna be in their watch list. I still plan to visit SG in the future since I have relatives working here. I'll make sure no change of plans and get on that plane in 7 days then.
