Research fellow with 4.5K per month chance for PR?
Research fellow with 4.5K per month chance for PR?
Hi all,
I have read a lot about the chances and requirements for PR approval. In my case, I am a Macedonian (Macedonia is in Europe) , single, working on an E-Pass at NTU for just over an year. I earn 4.5k per month, and have E-Pass till 2021. As said, Im single , robotics engineer working as research fellow at NTU (Nanyang Technical University) with ST Engineering corporate lab. My question is do I have any chance for PR? And if any when is the best time to apply.
Thanks

One thing regarding PR is that if you do not apply then you are guaranteed not to get PR.astronaut wrote:Hi all,

There is no particular best time to apply, just make sure have fulfilled the basic minimum requirements before the first application.

Caucasian approvals are only in the hundreds per year and most of those I suspect are for families. Your chances are low but try.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

So, you think my chance are low cause of my Nationality and family status?
Re: Research fellow with 4.5K per month chance for PR?
Essentially its your ethnicity that is going against you mainly.astronaut wrote:So, you think my chance are low cause of my Nationality and family status?
You are a young guy, working away at a local Uni doing something that the Govt is quite keen on.
In my opinion you have as good a chance as any young single Ang Moh's guy applying for PR.
AS PNGMK says though , ang moh's are probably not getting so many approvals a year, so just get yourself in the queue , and wait til your name rises to the top

Re: Research fellow with 4.5K per month chance for PR?
...also, you are here for a VERY short time.
Re: Research fellow with 4.5K per month chance for PR?
Ang Moh's guy are Caucasians true? I heard from people that research fellow with salary above 4K in general get approval for PR only it takes a time. If Im married would that be from beneficial for the application?

With this thinking you are well on your to becoming Singaporean , where in any relationship the marriage proposal "Wanna get married so we can get ballot BTO ah!"astronaut wrote:Ang Moh's guy are Caucasians true? I am sure you would prefer to get married for other reasons that it might help a PR application though

+1. Also your salary should be slightly higher for a research fellow.

Overall considering your stay in SG and salary, it would be too early for you to apply now. If you are really keen for PR, stay for 3 years and then apply.astronaut wrote:Really. I tough 4.5 K is pretty ok salary?
We never know of anyone from europe and earning around 4k, who have had their PR approved.
Re: Research fellow with 4.5K per month chance for PR?
Your salary would be roughly ok if with your education level you had 0-4y experience, but I looked you up (sorry lah, for your benefit only, not going to share it) and with your profile, I would think 5-6k should be more appropriate.astronaut wrote:Really. I tough 4.5 K is pretty ok salary?

I have a friend, Caucasian from Athens, Senior Research Fellow, worked from RF to SRF, field: Environmental management, 7-8 years at NUS, wife (SEA) with 2yo child here.. His fifth PR attempt just failed...
Good luck to you.. If you try, at least you have a chance.. That's what he said to me..
