PR approved after 360 days

Postby Gilli_a » Mon, 27 Mar 2017 9:53 pm

Hi All,

I have been following this forum for quite some time. I applied for PR about a year ago. Since it took so long, I lost hope. My salary is not in the high range and I was not sure if my nationality would play against me. I really thought that my rejection letter got lost in the mail. I finally got the approval letter today!

This is my profile :

Age : 26
Gender : Female
Country of Citizenship : Mauritius
Ethnicity : Chinese
Education : Full time in Australia
Occupation : Business Analyst for an MNC
Marital Status : Single
Salary : 70k+ per annum
Working Experience : 4 years
Years in Singapore : 4 years

I guess it's not too bad if you application is pending for a long time. There is still hope :)

Well when you see people posting that they earn 180k & above, it is a bit intimidating to think that you are competing against them. :p Oh 1.5 years. I am not alone. haha

70K for someone with 4 years of experience, is considered as a more than decent salary in Singapore.

Congrats on your PR approval.

I have no idea how the system works, but I would doubt very much that you were "in competition" with the the folk you gave as an example.

The Govt probably realises it has plenty of these types of Foreign Talents , and in an ideal world for them it would prefer if they got replaced by citizens.

Therefore you are in the worker bee category and this Govt seems to love the worker bees thus you probably had a far better chance than the 500k p.a. person in the Finance Industry.

To use your vernacular , you would have been competing with other folk in the sub 100k p.a. salary folks.

Oh , and you are a young ethnically Chinese female .... so in fact your competition pool is even smaller.
Life is short, paddle harder!!
