A brief piece of writing on gun ownership by white working class men. I found many of them to be generous-hearted people with gentle manners. I don't understand why my educated liberal friends and those in the academia are dismissive of them. Just because this other group is less intellectual than themselves? Putting people down when they are already feeling insecure and vulnerable just seem the opposite of "liberal" ideals. What would you do when you feel cornered?

At least, the church provides a sense of community. Regardless of the misgivings that some of us may have regarding religion.
