Call Starhub or Singtel. If home is already pre-wired with COAXIAL cables they can activate it instantly. Go down to their centers like Plaza Singapura, grab a number, and you should be able to get it hooked up right away. They may even give you the cable modem to connect yourself.
Turning on COAXIAL CABLE internet for them can be done remotely. You will just need the cable modem to get it to work.

They will push to move to Fibre. Since coax is being phased out progressively.
Alternate, M1, the CPE 4G router.

If you are coming for study ask your school for accommodation options.
Of course if you are rich, choices galore.

I have heard a lot about Singapore, and I feel very excited. I have searched for many things related to your country. I hope after you set foot on your country, I will see you. Nice to meet you.

Starhub cable can be activated almost instantly as mentioned.
Data is kinda expensive for 3g 4g connection but circle Telco got quite good data package

I think M1 and Singtel have rolled out quite affordable infinite data plans recently?

Such places wouldn't even have wifi... if you're referring to the strength of service, it really depends on how remote the place in question is.
