I wonder if you can help me out regarding living in Singapore.
I was in Singapore last February and I was invited to apply for a job in the aerospace industry in Singapore.

I searched the internet for information regarding the cost of living in Singapore and came across with a range of numbers.
Still, some questions need more than an internet search.

- Health insurance? yes you need it
- What about income tax? www.iras.gov.sg shows the tax tables
- Are there any public pension schemes or other? Can a foreign contribute even if non-resident? No but you can contribute towards SRS (google it)
- Any deductible expenses? Say accommodation rent? Other? Some relief for a spouse/children. Nothing else.
- Can one work under a local contract and be considered a non-resident for tax purposes if away more than 183 days? Why would you want that? It means you must be paying tax in a much higher rate country.

I've learned that Singapore is rather expensive. But then again it all depends on your lifestyle.

I'm looking to learn as much as possible before making up my mind.
