Only granted 2 days of stay in SG when cam back from KL. Does it mean that I already have a bad record in the immigratio

Post by Geee » Mon, 27 Feb 2017 12:33 am

I wanna know if i have travel ban or anything negative on my record here in Singapore because I will need to go back again many times in the future for sure because my boyfriend is a Singaporean and I am from Philippines.

So here's what happened. I got escorted to the immigration office because I went out of SG during my 2nd month of stay which I got thru online extention. I and my BF went to KL to celebrate his bday and we didn't know that if your svp is extended thru online, once u go out of sg, u shouldn't return after 5 days.

So yea I got questioned and all but eventually was allowed to go in but only for two days since my return flight to Philippines (my home country) is in two days. And I don't mind that at all, my main concern is if i will be able to go back to sg in the future?

He is tired of going to Manila because he has been doing that for 3 years already and he said now it's my turn to be able to "see his world". I hope someone would answer me. Thank you! :(

Marry him. If he really loves you, to avoid raising suspicions at immigration.

PS. There's no 5 day rule. It is All about travel patterns.

I don't wanna sound mean or anything but your answer to my question is irrelevant. Im asking if I have a record not asking for a relationship advice. But just so you know, We will get married at the right time for sure, we're still both young, I'm only 21, just finished college and just got my professional license in the Philippines, and we still both have plans for our careers, we wanna be established first and not want to rush into the married life.

Hope you can give a direct answer to the question that I posted.

In all probability, yes. You can try in 3 months (if you've got the money to blow on air tickets) but yes, it's a possibility you could be turned away at immigration.

Thank you for answering. But just to clarify, the officer didn't deny me of entry in Singapore, he only stamped "permitted to remain in SG until the date stated on my return flight ticket"

Is 3 months the minimum travel ban in SG? And is it right to use the term travel ban because that sounds really serious lol. It's not like I was asked to pay fine or denied entry in SG anyway..

It's not a ban, it is just that all the symptoms your described together with your nationality and your gender and the policies being more and more strict suggest what SMS wrote above. Or in other words, it looks like ICA thinks you have no valid reason to stay in Singapore and you tried do a visa run.

I am not trying to be mean. I am stating the facts. Going by past girls from Asian countries visiting Singapore lovers is not condoned by govt.

It's not your fault for being 'patterned' by ICA

Heck I know Filipinos who married Singaporeans without proper procedure and despite marriage, they were still not allowed for 3 to 5 years. Their marriage is what made ICA have a change of heart. If that matters to you.

Go ahead, push your luck. You may get lucky on your next visit or see yourself deported on arrival.

btw, if you are 21 and your boyfriend too is, and unless you can prove you have valid work / business reasons to visit Singapore, that's enough warning signs.

I am again not being mean but that despite you being with your boyfriend ICA gave 2 days should be taken as a serious message.

Stay away from Singapore for 6 months or more, and when you come back, get your boyfriend to accompany you and bring enough cash too to prove to ICA that you are not depending on your boyfriend.

PS, at 21 I only had to worry about what my future career path is, and not fret about who I will live my life with. :) no offence.

As a young southeast asian woman, there is always a risk that you will be profiled by immigration as an "undesirable" visitor. It will depend on your travel patterns, age, and maybe other things. There is no fixed rule given by ICA on who will be turned away or allowed in. To increase your chances of being allowed in, you can come with friends or family members or with your BF. You can also put a gap between visits to SG and to ensure not to maximize each visit. If an officer sees you making frequent visits and maximizing each visit (2 months + a U-turn through JB or batam), then this will raise red flags. Possibly, a history of traveling to other countries for short periods could establish you as a seasoned traveler.

I personally think the OP is down to her last warning. She risks being black listed and would have turned back on her last visit except she had an ongoing ticket in two days and some evidence of not being a woman of vice. I would be look for other options such as studying or working in Singapore and not relying on a SVP to be close to her BF.

OP - a lot of working girls here use the cover of a bf to do visa runs. (i.e. they ask a customer to take them in/out on a visa run and offer trade as payment). ICA are on to this.

At the bottom of things... why the hell is ICA so worried about "working girls"? Tons of women in Geylang. Four Floors filled with prostitutes, professional and amateur... how the hell do the Russian blondes in the Top Five club get visas? And a woman seeking to enter the country is denied that privilege simply because some ICA asshole presumes she is here "working"?

If some male prick isn't trying to make money off the tricks the women may pursue, then it is idiotic to deny these women entry solely on the charge of "vice"... Singapore is wide open when it comes to paid sex... the only real law is that degenerate males can't make a living by pimping out women.

You're that close to understanding how it is happening. For the girls who can stay and work OT? From what I've seen they come in with legit employment passes as entertainers.....Plenty of unsponsored girls in OT but of course they'll tell you exactly how many days they have left and they or their friends know the informal rules of getting around visa runs; they aren't the ones working the dance tables but the desperate ones looking out from dark corners for a catch.

OP is falling into the area of "being of the same gender and nationality" as many working girls and has no "sponsor" or "employment pass" to dance in OT so the risk averse ICA send her off and of course she isn't connected in with friends who know the informal rules and that's why she is here asking....

Because Uncle Sam constantly pressurizes Singapore for being a human trafficking hub and for more to be done. And it's a hot topic for human rights activists who insist Singapore should do more. And every time Singapore relaxed, these activities made enough noise, demanding more need to be done, and uncle Sam down graded Singapore's rating to bad.

Same reason why Immigration in Philippines stops random people from leaving Philippines, claiming they are possible human trafficking victims, though in Philippines ' case, uncle Sam rewards Philippines for successfully pretending to have found possible human trafficking victims.

PS, as PNGMK said, the EE blondes are on valid permit ;) so they aren't trafficked, per se.

Sad truth bout being a citizen from southeast asia, especially Philippines.. Other countries would always automatically assume you wanna do something "illegal" in their country when truth is all you want to do is travel :(

And yes thank you for that suggestion. Yes we've planned that our next holidays would be in a country other than Singapore for now.

This month, it just so happen that his birthday was close to the end of my svp.. I wonder if this would also happen to me if I am coming from a western country lol. Random thoughts.
