Is hugging a girl(20 years old) by her neck while she's sitting down im standing up, and while she leans her head towards my stomach(im 20 too), under a voiddeck at 10.30pm an offence? Yesterday a lady approached and threatened to call her police friend unless we get lost and go home immediately.
We left as we din't wanted any trouble, but i don't think we did anything against the law. I would like to know how i can respond better to such situations in the future. Is there anything the police can do to me and my gf? We were not doing anything more than what i've stated above.
Can a police force us back to the police station for questioning?

No it isn't. But to a casual onlooker, it would look as if she is giving you a blowjob - which would be a public indecency offence.

if you aren't doing anything wrong, why worry?Zhekaimarcus wrote:Is hugging a girl(20 years old) by her neck while she's sitting down im standing up, and while she leans her head towards my stomach(im 20 too), under a voiddeck at 10.30pm an offence? besides, she cannot get her "police friend" to do anything to you.
in future, tell her she can call her friend, but her friend (or her) would still need to call the police. and don't scamper off.
p/s: yes, the police can "force (you) back to the police station for questioning" but i suspect in such an instance, they'll take down your particulars and "investigate." again, if you haven't done anything wrong (public indency/outrage of modesty), you should sleep well at night.

Offer to call the police for her. You'd be surprised how quickly this will put someone on the defensive.
There was nothing criminal about what your were doing. If she was close enough to talk to you she was close enough to see nothing sexual was going on. While getting a blow job in public is criminal, someone else wrongly accusing you of this (despite any appearances to the contrary) is very much not illegal.
I don't know what the protocol would be for police taking you back to the police station for questioning, but I don't see that happening in this case.
If the police showed up, they would likely talk to the two of you and the lady and conclude nothing inappripriate was going on and tell your accuser to go home.

Singaporean's are a little tired of the numbers of young pregnant unmarried women in their country (10,000 abortions per year FFS) and the slip in morality that has occurred (in their minds) in the last few decades (Singapore was seriously conservative even to the early 90's). She's old school. Also HDB dwellers become annoyed at people hanging around in the void deck late at night.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
