Importing a product to be used in ready mix concrete from India !

Post by Kinjal Mehta » Thu, 02 Feb 2017 3:15 pm

Hi All,

I've recently moved to Singapore on a Dependent Pass along with my husband from India .The pass has been issued by the Ministry of Finance , Singapore . I am planning to import a product that can be used in ready-mix concrete from an established supplier / manufacturer in India .I've researched and currently there are no import restrictions on the product . However I have some doubts :

1) My company is in India and I am going to be an agent selling it to buyers in Singapore . Do i require any permits for the same ? If I do what will they be ?

Thanks,
Kinjal Mehta

If you plan on selling in Singapore, you will need to form a business here, at least a sole proprietorship but more likely a private limited company.

You will need to have your newly formed company apply for an employment pass for you. I, and others have written in many threads on this subject in the Careers and Business forums.

In short, it is not possible for you to simply be an "agent" for a foreign company. All foreign companies doing business in Singapore must a registered legal business entity.
