Re: [Guide] PR Approved - now what?
Hi,
new member here, learnt a lot from the forums. Thanks for the wealth of information.
I am an SC. I sponsored my husband for a PR. It was approved ~10 days ago according to iEnquiry.
We live overseas. So they have to send the physical letter to my registered overseas address. But we haven't received the letter yet - I'm a bit worried. Can anyone share how long it took for the letter to come once you saw the approval on iEnquiry? Anyone with experience receiving the letter overseas? Is there any point in booking tickets back to Singapore & going to ICA for the formalities without the letter?
I called ICA but all they said was to wait longer & if I hadn't received in 2 weeks, to email them. I've already emailed but no response
Thanks a lot in advance for your collective wisdom. I checked previous threads but couldn't find a similar post which was recent enough.

They have asked you to wait for 2 weeks, did you wait? Your post says it has been only 10 days since you saw the status on ienquiry? Why not wait patiently for one more week?lavanyam90 wrote: ↑Wed, 07 Aug 2019 8:38 pmHi,

If ICA told you something and you press them again and again, they usually stick to their same stand. Will ask you to wait for the time that they have told you.
Please wait patiently.

Re: [Guide] PR Approved - now what?
Hi, thanks for your reply.
Request the hivemind's help urgently -
We received a mail from ICA saying the letter was mailed out on 26 July. and is valid for 1 month.
Obviously we haven't received the letter yet. So they suggested flying to SG and collecting the hard copy from ICA. Plus there's a time constraint as we just have 10 days left for the IPA's validity.
SO, was wondering if anyone could share the document checklist that the ICA sent? So that we can try to get as many documents as possible ready before flying out?

ICA may be constantly updating the list of documents needed. Better, email ICA or call ICA Helpline and find out the list of documents needed.lavanyam90 wrote: ↑Fri, 16 Aug 2019 10:43 amHi, thanks for your reply.

Please also note that you cannot just walkin and complete formalities for PR. You will need an appointment to complete PR formalities. So, ask ICA about the same too.
If I remember right, they will also need a HIV/TB tests for the PR Applicant and best is to get this done in Singapore.

Re: [Guide] PR Approved - now what?
Just to close the loop on this -
I called the ICA PR helpline, they were very helpful.
We received a 1 month extension on the IPA.
We also received the soft copy of the IPA along with all the other documents.
It did take some time though, so I would suggest that anyone in the same boat try calling the ICA PR helpline (not the general helpline) in case there is any delay in getting a response to emails.
Fingers crossed that the PR formalities go well.

Re: [Guide] PR Approved - now what?
Hi guys,
First time poster here, sorry to revive an old (but helpful) thread. I had a few questions regarding the processes upon obtaining PR. I completed the formalities at ICA a few days ago and got my temporary blue IC slip/entry permit and re-entry permit.
First thing is when I try to book a date and time for collection of my IC, I don't get an option for iCollect or even collection at a nearby SingPost - just an in-person appointment at ICA starting mid August - is this the experience of others/reflection of the Covid-19 times? Happy to wait it out but it's a bit less convenient.
I contacted SingPass to update them (was previously on a work pass) but they said the changeover should be automatic in terms of my account, within about 7-14 days - this differs to the advice given in one of the earlier posts.
Also regarding conversion of driver's licence, is it possible to do this with the temporary blue IC slip or is it better to wait for the actual IC before making the change? Have passed BTT etc so this would be last step.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: [Guide] PR Approved - now what?
1. I was able to use collection at nearby Singpost. It was available for collection 5 business days after my issuance at ICA.
2. That is correct. Almost all of the Singpass information will be automatically ported over. If it's not done immediately then give it some time and they will eventually port over (max of a month).
3. You will need the new IC physical card for the License conversion. Temporary blue IC slip is not accepted.

Thanks for your advice! You had answered all my questions in mind even I never asked!YugiChala wrote: ↑Wed, 29 Jul 2020 10:19 am1. I was able to use collection at nearby Singpost. It was available for collection 5 business days after my issuance at ICA.

However, want to ask your advice on conversion of driving license.
I had already converted my driving license to Singapore driving license in December when I was still holding Employment Pass, but I just converted to SPR and just need to update SPF on my new blue IC number.
Re: [Guide] PR Approved - now what?
You will need to get a replacement license card as your current license card will be based on FIN number. You can apply in person for replacement card in the Traffic Police HQ. Go there with a passport size photo, new NRIC card and cash/nets for payment. After your application you will receive the new License card based on your NRIC in around 10 days. Delivered to your home address. Your current License card based on FIN will have an expiry but the replacement one based on NRIC won't have an expiry. It'll be valid as long as your PR is valid.

Same here. I could not see any available dates for iCollect and SingPost options. Are they closing these two options temporarily?NRI87 wrote: ↑Thu, 16 Jul 2020 12:05 pmHi guys,

Re: [Guide] PR Approved - now what?
Thanks for the information - I think those alternate collection methods (iCollect and Alternate site) may not be available currently. My SingPass got ported over about 1-2 weeks after as advised. Now waiting to collect my IC card to book an appointment at TP HQ to get the licence conversion done.YugiChala wrote: ↑Wed, 29 Jul 2020 10:19 am1. I was able to use collection at nearby Singpost. Yes, during formalities, the officer told me that iCollect is temporarily not available due to covid situation.deals68 wrote: ↑Wed, 05 Aug 2020 6:57 pmSame here. SingPost is the fastest option now.
