i was wondering if you are being caught. how many times do you need to report back to the IO ( under bail). My friend has been going back just to report for twice. And she is going back next month again. And normally how long will the case took?

FFS as long as it takes. Jesus christ on a stick; if you want legal advice get a goddamn lawyer for your sorry ass.
In summary you live in a country that operated under emergency rule (since the 60's) - a form of martial law. There is no due process. The cops can do whatever they want as long as they want.

Reality is there is no point complaining about the cops. Far better to work on a legal strategy. Personal experience leads me to believe you'd expect this many cop meetings:
1. Arrest/Detention
2. Bail Posting
3. Initial IO interview
4. IO thinks about it and comes up with 1 to infinity more questions and calls in OP
5. OP tells some truths and a bunch of lies.
6. Steps 4 to 5 repeat ad infinitum until either OP stops lying or becomes better at lying
7. IO prepares report for AGC (or drops case if IO feels it will not stand AGC scrutiny or involves children etc)
8. AGC responds with either agreement on charges or recommended way forward (more investigation, requesting statements from witnesses etc) for prosecution case
9. IO calls in OP sorry ass and advises her of 8 (i.e. charged, dropped or answer more questions - go back step 4 until IO drops or proceeds w case and bail).
10. Go to court. Sentenced.
don't do the crime unless you can afford to swing on the end of a rope.

Your post actually sounds like you stole your friends Cash Card doesn't it. If you did not, for her information, they can trace the cash card withdrawals (anybody with a cash card can get a printout of the transactions which will include dates, times and where). The police can then go to those places and based on the time/dates, can request the CCTV footage to try to identify the user of the card. So, if it was you.........

While I would never agree that crime pays I'm pretty certain the cops threw your friends police report in the bin the minute she left the NPP.
Don't do it again.

I am under the impression the situation for the cash cards theft improved over last decade. I lost a number of them taken from my motorbike but not in recent years. But perhaps my parking areas changed. I no longer frequent SLS and such.

Yes perhaps you're right. Maybe they cause the crims more pain that I thought. I despise all and any form of stored currency tho.
