Hello there
My husband and I are relocating from the UK to Singapore shortly and are now looking at both moving companies and Short Term Accommodation.
Firstly, does any one have advice as to what to sell/bring in terms of costs - we probably wont bring much furniture other than 1/2 pieces. I have been told that it's probably best/cheaper not to bring too much stuff. We have two babies so have all the usual baby gear here but do we ship/sell and rebuy. Any tips? Any recommended Movers?
Secondly, we think we would like to live on the water along the East Coast area. Obviously we need to establish this once there so plan to book a short term rental for say 2 months in that area which will allow us to do our research. Any suggestions? Anyone able to help us? Do we need help? Places to look to find rentals?
Thank you very much in advance.

Re: Moving from UK - movers/short term let question
Hi we relocated from the uk about a year
Most items are more expensive out here so you may want to ship. If you are shipping you can get 1/2 a container or a full one depending on cost and how much stuff you have. Although we did ship and the humidity here has effected our wooden furniture. Which we ended up reselling. You can get some second hand furniture here from expats leaving etc and Carousell
We used Pickfords but they lost the boys Xbox and broke a few items so wouldn't really recommend them
We live in the East Coast area. You will not be able to rent somewhere on a short term rental as 6 months is the minimum. You can look at Serviced Apartments for this!
