Overtime & Daily allowance "regulation" in SG

Postby DDren_80 » Mon, 26 Dec 2016 2:52 am

Hello,
first at all, Marry Christmas and compliment for this great forum.. I got here already many helpful information.
But for one topic I would like to hear your opinion or experience.

I'll work for one year in Singapore. The first months, as long as I don't have the EP with the contract of my home country and then I would get a Singaporean work contract.
I got now the "offer"..
I would earn <75.000SGD (without Bonus and Housing allowance) and I have a clause there, that all my overtime and daily allowance are covered with the salary.
My Question: Is such a term typical in Singapore if you have just a salary of 70k? For my opinion is this not much and I won't work as a manager (where such terms are understandable).
The IRAS has a page with acceptable per diem rates if you are based in Singapore and you have to travel to other countries.
Is it possible for the company in Singapore to claim this money by tax back from the government (like in Europe)? I'll work most properly from one year, around 6 months in Malaysia and Indonesia.. so I will make definitely a lot of overtime and I would like to get also the daily allowance.

Thank you in advance for your answers :)

in Singapore, in practice, anybody of executive grade need not be paid over time. And that's legal. :)

so you need to discuss with your employer. And try not to quote the law there ;)
