Hi, I just want to know if I can stay in Johor and commute everyday to avoid high accomodation costs? I'll be studying in Singapore for 6 months. If it's possible, what type of visa should I get to stay in Malaysia? Thank you.

You can, I'm not sure on the visa situation but search on here, it's been asked before.
Depending on when you travel the commute can be pretty onerous. I know one person that does it and she now also has a place in Sg for those times when it's too hard to get home.

Have a few friends who did that. Not sure what visa they get. They work in SG, stay in JB. It's possible if your timing doesn't coincide with the rest of the working crowd...

Thanks for the chuckle xinjie86. You actually used Singapore and culture in the same sentence. That's just like chalk & cheese.

That's going to be challenging due to the heavy traffic and long traveling time. If situation allows, do stay in Singapore for 6 months and experience the life here.
