Asking for suggestion regarding a job opportunity

Hi all,

I am a Malaysian degree holder fresh graduate engineer, recently I applied a job (Software Engineer) in X company. The job scope is interesting, the salary is below average which I can accept since I am a fresh graduate. However, X company can only provide me Work Permit and when I read through my IPA letter, the position given is "Assistant Engineer". I did a little digging and found out actually Assistant Engineer is usually for diploma grad and this will slow down the career progression. While HR told me that I can be promoted internally based on my performance. Any suggestion? Thank you very much!

This will be my first time to work in Sg if this really happens, I always look forward to get a job in Sg, I've determined every pros and cons, I will have the opportunity to learn the in-demand skills currently, on the other hand, I will need to take up at least 3 years to climb up to a formal engineer position.
