however as the Govt currently police the rules on owning/renting out flats then I suspect another damp squib.

I don't think Sg has the accommodation shortage that Vancouver has. Not these days at least.

Agreed rents are falling. All of my co-workers are bragging about the rent reductions they are negotiating with their landlords....

And my niece is bragging that she's finally found a tenant after 5 months of being vacant (formally 2600 now 2000 But HBD 5 room in Hougang) so a bit out of the way (near YCK Rd).

Next time , let me know as my colleague lives in Houngang and she only changed house a couple of months ago , she may have taken it sooner.

Bummer! My niece just got a job with the NZ government. They recently got PR in NZ and bought a
property down there. When it come up again I'll let you know.

Hi SMS,
I guess we have now come a full circle, rents must be back above 2600 now isn't it?
My landlord is asking me for $2300 for the renewal 5 room HDB in Jurong. I used to rent it for 1800 for the last 3 years. Apparently he can get 2600 in the market but giving me a discount because I am a good tenant(his own words). Small mercies I guess.
