Singapore is in the wrong timezone!

Why is it important it should be the same?

It is not that important. Just that it feels very odd for Singapore to share the same timezone as Hong Kong and Shanghai. When geographically it is not placed that far east. Just feels out of place.

i am so used to the fact that HK, SH and SG shared the same timezone i did not even feel it out of place...

Makes sense, Chinese Chinese everywhere, might as well have Chinese timezone too.

As large as China is, they only have one time zone from what I understand, even though they span 5 zones.

Quite true... and it is crazy. Sun can come up at 3 in the morning.

India is the same way... one time zone... 2.5 hours of SG time.
