Hi,
A friend of mine moved into a room at a condo two months ago. She was meant to sign a contract but the landlord seemingly forgot. Since moving in, she has become increasingly uncomfortable with the behaviour of other tenants and wants to move out. Her landlord is being uncooperative. If she didn't sign anything, can she simply leave and have her deposit become the last month's rent? It obviously isn't ideal but she believes that she could find a replacement tenant to take over after her leaving.
