Looking for a 1 BHK flat/house for rent near alexandra/pasir panjang road ..! Budget - 2500 SGD

May i ask help in how to get started with a house/flat rental near my office located in Pasir panjang road ? I think 1 bedroom+1 hall and a kitchen should be good.

I will be moving with my wife to singapore (with in 15 days) for the first time on EP, would be great if anyone could throw some light in the process ? I have taken quick look at . and gumtree, but it seems to be bit confusing (probably because am new to).

I have budget limitation of 2.5k SGD, as am the only one working at this moment, my wife may try for a job after reaching there, which would helpful in finding a better spot for accomodation. Is 2.5k SGD is too low to get a fair flat/house ?

1600 decent, 1650 tops. 2.5K should get something nice. (HDB or even older condo possibly)

I think there is a reason why OP has specifically mentioned budget limitation of 2.5K. TCS has a very interesting compensation structure. Their base pay is low but they provide a housing allowance which says if you rent upto 2.5k, you pay 1.8k and we pay the difference limited to max 2.5k. So even if you rent for say 2k. You still have to shell out 1.8k and TCS pays $200. So there is no incentive for OP to rent anything lower than 2.5k.

I know this is crazy, but that is how it is.

TCS also pays kids schooling even if you put them in Intl school. So indians typically put their kids in Indian Intl schools with fees around 1.5k a month. Totally worth it if you have 2 kids going to school.

Hi there,
Just thought to ask 2-2.5k would be decent to get a full unit as am planning to take my mom later.

Though my compensation structure doesn't state specific as HRA, probably i'll get to know on the first day at office in induction.

Having said that, as SMS stated, am seeing good hdb/condo for rentals starting with 1.5-1.6. Will get deeper in to it.. Brokerage is bothering at times though

Alright, so managed to get a HDB for 2k near pasir panjang/ alexandra road. That is where i work and HDB is just 10 min walk away from office. Managed to sign a deal with owner directly via ilive in SG, will be shifting from Company provided guest house next week. thanks all.
