The following persons may be considered for Singapore Citizenship:

A Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) who is at least 21 years and has been a PR for at least 2 years. The person can apply together with his / her spouse and unmarried children below 21 years of age.

Spouse of Singapore Citizen who has been married for at least 2 years, and has been a Singapore Permanent Resident for at least 2 years.

Keyword is may be considered

Be it family tie or economic scheme, you have yet to fulfill the minimum PR period.

The fact that you bought a resale flat is of no consequence to your application. In fact it is a useless bit of info as they could care less. In fact, they might suppose you are just going to flip it as soon as the minimum occupancy period has been met.

But as the post above mentioned, you need to be a PR for "AT LEAST" two years (unless you are an astrophysicist, brain surgeon from a recognized Medical school or a rocket scientist).

he's going to tell us next that he "pays income tax and donates to charity."

(and may follow it up with questions on volunteering at the RC)
